> 3 dayMessy. Fun. I recommend this to anyone wanting to give tie dye a try. For the price, youre better off buying 1 or 2 of these, some empty squirt bottles, and a small box of latex gloves. However, if youve never tie dyed before, one of Jacquards kits is a great start. This is more for round 2, when youre determined to get your shirts to come out how you had pictured them coming out in your head prior to starting. The powder allows you to mix as much dye as needed, which is quite a bit more than youll get with a starter kit.

> 3 dayThis was a great kit to test my hand at mixing my own colors and dyeing a few pieces of material. Just please use gloves and a very good mask around the dye powder and soda ash. They can cause very strong reactions in some people. And, let your items batch (sit after dyeing, before rinsing) for 48 hours and you will get much, much deeper colors!

> 3 dayIve been having a ton of fun dyeing my jeans and experimenting with this dye. Its awesome, my only complaint is that the black is more of a grey and does not work as well as the others. But overall this is a great kit.

> 3 dayGreat set for tie-dyeing. Colors can be combined to create new colors and the amount is enough to dye 10-12 white cotton adult t-shirts. The only challenge was trying to find 8oz applicator bottles for use with dyes since this is not a tie-dye kit.

> 3 dayI wanted to re-dye some of my sweaters that looked old and faded. I mixed this up according to the directions. Its MESSY, so do it outside. This is NOT for your washing machine or bathtub. Also, you need a lot of salt, so make sure youve got it on hand. I almost didnt have enough. I just a bunch of black sweaters and it turned out OK. I think I had too much fabric in the bucket for the formula, but Im still happy. They look better. Then I did a bright blue sweater, a teal sweater, and a green sweater. WOW. Those three (probably since it was ONE sweater per bucket) turned out amazing. Bright, vibrant, and they look brand new! The one sweater is a super old favorite from TEN years ago! I havent worn it in years because it was so dull looking, but I just couldnt throw it out because I love it SO MUCH! Now it looks brand new. Im glad I bought this. The colors mixed very well. It was a lot of work but SO worth it.

Greater than one weekI bought this to dye my daughters Halloween costume. Jacquard dyes are the only ones I use because they hold up so well, I have stuff that Ive dyed almost 3 years ago that is still almost as bright as it was immediately after I dyed it.
