John Boos Block MYSCRM Essential Mystery Oil and Board Cream Care and Maintenance Set: Includes One 16 Ounce Bottle Mystery Oil and One 5 Ounce Tube Board Cream

Ive got two Boos cutting boards; one huge one thats 3 thick and a new one thats 1 thick. The huge one developed cracks between the laminations so when I bought the new one, I bought this stuff, too. Although Ive used Boos Mystery Oil on the old one, it didnt seem to help--its basically mineral oil with antimicrobials added to it. Im hoping the Board Cream (mineral oil and beeswax) will fill in the gap in the large board and keep it from splitting further. Overall, the price is too high for what it is but if itll keep these outrageously expensive cutting boards from becoming firewood, Im good with it.

Upon first use of the Boos Block Cream the container broke which forced me to put it in an entirely different container. Disappointed.

Disappointing to say the least

I used this on my John boos cutting board. After using the board to cut bread, I wiped it with a damp cloth. I don’t know if it was the mystery oil or the quality of the board, but the surface immediately got rough. I returned both as they were both expensive.

These products do an excellent job of making my butcher block island act like happy wood instead of dried out wood. The butcher block does a pretty good job of repelling liquids that could otherwise stain for a few weeks.

Pretty straightforward, exactly what is needed to care for your wood cutting boards. Would be a 5 star review, but the tube for the wax cracked along the bottom seam and had to be thrown out, wasting half a tube.
