John Boos Block MYSCRM Essential Mystery Oil and Board Cream Care and Maintenance Set: Includes One 16 Ounce Bottle Mystery Oil and One 5 Ounce Tube Board Cream

Used this on a brand new cutting board I got, and its great. I also used it on a cutting board of my daughters, which is a few years old and had never been oiled, it looked like a new board when I got done with it. The first time is not a quick process, because you have to let it set for quite some time, but definitely worth it.

Once a month, I oil and wax my John Boos Block, since its a really large cutting board, quite expensive, and its important to protect it and take care of it. The essential mystery oil goes on easily, penetrated the wood and wipes off nicely. Whatever oil theyre peddling seems to get the job done. The board cream (wax) was tough to work with. Its hard to squeeze out of the tube (and good luck getting it all out!), and goes on thick, with a lot of wasted product when you wipe it off and inevitably go through about a dozen paper towels before the surface isnt still noticeably waxy. I switched to Clarks cutting board wax with round applicator and I have a MUCH easier time applying a thin even coat with almost no wasted product. I highly recommend Clarks over John Boos for the board cream, but the John Boos cutting board oil is perfectly fine and inexpensive and should last quite some time.

This oil is amazing!!! See the dull, gray spatula in the middle? All of the beautiful grained spoons around it were also that dull for a long time, until this morning. I oiled the other items and left the one for comparison. As soon as I send this review, that one will get oiled up as well!!

I used both the Mystery Oil and the cream to season my Boos cutting board. Happy with both. No residue and it keep my prized board in excellent condition. I apply the oil with a plastic grocery bag and it spreads very well without absorbing the oil. I wouldnt use any other product on my board.

They were easy to use. My cutting board looks new.

In general it is a product which is worth your money, gives a delicate beautiful color for your board. Just be aware, it took a half bottle to soak 3 Zwilling bamboo boards: big, middle, small.

I love this for ALL my wood kitchen tools and boards. Lather it on anything wood. Then wipe off the excess in a day. My favorite is using it on wood top side tables. If a drink spills, no problem.

I just wear a pair of clean latex gloves to apply the application. It is easy to apply and save a lot of unnecessary oil and avoid drippings. The key is to let the board with generous oil/cream over night to soak up the goodies.

Likely counterfeit. Sharpie mark through the words antimicrobial on the bottle which is ridiculous. Also looks like it may have been opened and resealed.
