> 3 dayAs someone whos just started raising a hamster again after half a decade of my last one (RIP Yogi, you old fart), I was nervous about buying this bedding as reviews lately have been hit or miss, but hamster owners with experience still recommended this bedding highly so I took the gamble to try to buy it on a good day and got two 50 liter bags (Technically 49.2 but ya know, semantics), since this time I want to give my hamster the best I can get. It came out great, the packaging was secure, the bedding was soft and fluffy after fluffing it up out of the bag, and thankfully no big dust issues have arisen, which is extra great because I am very allergic to dust. Ive only sneezed once while setting my new hamsters (I got him almost a week ago as of writing this) cage up but I expected that given the type of bedding this is and it was only when I was trying to unpack it from the bag. My dwarf hamster has been burrowing under it (a good 6 inches of it) constantly and even has a frequent one he goes to in his cages corner because it holds them better than Carefresh since that brand is denser than this one. Not only that, it doesnt smell, Ive not had any odor come out of my new hamsters cage. Maybe its too soon to tell, but I think its still a good sign, I doubt itll be hard to spot clean since hamsters dont make big messes. The only problem I have with it is because it is a really expanding fluffy bedding, it is deceiving when you try to fill a 6 inch pan to the near top with it, since the hamster walking around it will flatten it over time due to its lack of density. I recommend adding a different substrate to it to help lessen that, Aspen is great. Thats not much of an issue but rather just a fault of what the product is made out of material-wise but its not too big a deal to be a detriment. Despite the gamble that is seen in the reviews, this bedding is still recommended for hamsters and for good reason. Its soft, fluffy, safe for them to burrow in since its just paper, great for burrows at that, and although the dustiness has been stated to have risen over the products lifespan, its also been stated to be not as dusty as Carefresh would be which is why I chose this brand over that one. Lesser of the two evils in that regard, but I say get this for your hamsters nonetheless because the pros outweigh the cons when you get a good bag.

> 3 dayThis is a good brand of pet bedding. I have bought other brands which were dusty and hard. Kaytee bedding fluffs up nicely and is easy to scoop up when it is time to spot clean or when it is time to completely change the bedding. I gave it an average for scent since it does not actually have a scent other than paper.

> 3 dayI used this bedding for my gerbils. I normally buy carefresh brown natural paper bedding, but I couldnt find any and needed to get something. I was pleasantly surprised by this product given the price. Generally speaking, it will do everything you need it to do for gerbil bedding. They can chew it, it is absorbent, it is soft, and gerbils can build with it. I will continue to buy and recommend carefresh because this Kaytee product seems to be more of a 2 week required changing due to smell and compression. The carefresh I normally use is changed at the end of every three weeks and I would think you could use it longer if you needed to. if you change your bedding every two weeks, then this product seems perfectly fine and Iw ould use it again if needed.

> 3 dayWhen I ordered it the picture was different. It’s labeled the same as the soft and cozy, but it’s not as soft. It doesn’t expand as much. I feel like I got generic bedding with the brand slapped on it.

> 3 dayHas dust like toilet paper if you balled up it and tore it up. Feels like that too. I m worried about this paper dust it has and the health of my animal. It is very soft which is nice.

> 3 dayI have been purchasing the Kaytee clean and cozy WHITE for months now. I didnt realize I was almost out so I had to reorder. I also just hit buy again button. Today I got two BROWN. I have tried brown, tri-color and White.. the White is the softest and it absorbs the smell. I have not found that with the other two colors. Not very happy with the brown but I dont have a choice. I needed the bedding today.

> 3 dayHe has to run over and mess it up as soon as I put it in his liter box. He makes quite a mess with it, but the vacuum picks it up nicely.

> 3 dayI’ve been using this brand of bedding for about two years now, and I’ve loved it unconditionally. It’s soft, doesn’t smell terrible after a week, and holds burrows well. All of my hamsters have loved it and there haven’t been any issues. However, recently, there have been some dust issues. After (and while) putting this bedding in my enclosures, I repeatedly sneeze. And upon further inspection, a coat of dust has caked on the sides of my hamsters enclosures. If you plan on using this bedding, I recommend pairing it with another kind. Such as aspen bedding. Aspen isn’t too great at holding burrows, so either mix the two together or only use this bedding in burrowing areas.
