> 3 dayI bought this to quiet my Mercedes Sprinter cargo van. it cam with NO sound deadening , just a tiny ineffective mat inside the hood and engine area. Wow this stuff is really easy to use, just cut with scissors peel and stick. it sticks very well it is a warm day. my van was so loud that we could not carry on a normal conversation before adding the killmat , now it is easy. cost is very effective at less then 10 bucks per door for example. 20 buck for my huge ceiling above the driver and passenger in front. now I have zero road noise and want to cut down the diesel engine noise .. going to but more for the firewall and floorboard areas to cut down the engine noise, but that is just a nice to have at this point. Kilmat killed my noise problem

> 3 dayThe sound difference is minimal with only a single layer applied. I chose to add a second layer at every point where the base layer met and created a seam. That gives the rigidity I expect. This product does not reduce all sound. It simply adds rigidity to the sheet metal and stops rattles and tinny sounds. Adding a layer of acoustic foam padding under the carpet is still advised if total sound reduction is your goal. As measured with a caliper, the material is just over 2mm thick. 80mil = 2.2mm, so it is as thick as advertised. I still wish it was significantly thicker... It is about half as thick as the old factory stuff I peeled out of my truck. It is worth noting that I am working on a 97 F350 pickup. A modern car has considerably thinner metal and a single layer may work better on modern cars. There is a slight asphalt smell on the material. However, I have yet to notice it once installed. It just smells like fresh pavement out of the box. A handy tip, buy a cheap wooden spatula and use that for the initial fit before using a roller. It is much easier to manipulate into folds and reduce air bubbles. My advice, add an extra box to your order and plan to add a second layer at strategic points to achieve the result you desire. Otherwise, just pay the extra money and get a thicker product. But, for the price, adding a second layer is still probably the best value.

Greater than one weekThis product is easy to use. Extremely sticky, great adhesion. The bumpy pattern realy helps to let you know where youve rolled it out.

Greater than one weekIt’s cut into lots of sheets. It’s easy to install if you lay it in the sun. I don’t have any oil/asphalt smell in the truck. ProjectTwin has great videos on how to install this stuff. I’d recommend watching them and getting MLV sound deadening material to accompany this. It is my next step.

> 3 dayI installed this throughout my Montero Sport, mostly in the rear cargo area to quiet the many rattles that come from 200k+ miles of driving around Montana/PNW. I pulled off the interior trim panels and placed a layer on the inside of the exterior sheet metal fender panels, then a layer on the inner sheet metal panel that frames out the cargo area and the trim panels clip in to. I got about 70-75% coverage, mostly because I was being a little lazy and a bit rushed, but I also didnt want to interfere with any holes that were used for trim clips. Or run out of the 65sq/ft before ordering more. I feel like the 80mil material is heavy/dense enough that 100% coverage wouldnt really be necessary. I did do both front doors so far, along with most of the rear and there is definitely a difference. A lot of the rattles are completely gone, while the bigger, louder noises that came from offroad driving are considerably quietier. The loud banging from rocks getting thrown into the wheel wells is much less noticeable. The doors close with a much more solid sounding thud with no rattles then before. I have decent Rockford speakers in my doors but nothing loud enough to notice any sound quality differences as far as stereos and such are concerned. This product will probably stick to anything, but I strongly suggest giving the surface a wipe down if its dusty. Its repositional as long as youve only got a few square inches stuck down, any more than that and good luck. Cuts pretty easily with a utility knife on a scrap of OSB or something. Definitely worth the money and time invested to not hear everything rattle on long off-road trips.
