Great outlet tester

Function as descried. Arrived on time.

Not much more to say except that Klein seems to do a pretty great job of offering good and useful tools for electricians.

It works

Easy to use. Nice to see the explanation of the lights directly on the device.

This works perfectly to test if a circuit is functioning correct and based on the lights it indicates any issue it found. One of my outlets started failing, I tested it and it showed as a hot ground - ended up that I needed to replace this receptacle. The GFCI trip works too, when plugged in, it tells you if that circuit is protected by a GFI breaker. To engage this test, plug the tester into the outlet then push the top side button. I will warn you, that GFI breakers can only be tripped a certain number of times before this fail and need to be replaced, so use this tool for this purpose with restrain.

As described and works great

This device doesn’t work as described on the Amazon website, which is very detailed but fails to mention the following direction, which you only see when you cut open the clamshell packaging and read the instructions inside: “All appliances or equipment on the circuit being tested should be unplugged to help reduce the possibility of erroneous readings.” If I had known that use of this device requires you figure out what is plugged in on each circuit, and then go around the house, behind furniture, etc. to unplug everything, I would never have purchased this device.

This is one my go-tos being a residental electrician.
