My house isnt grounded so it should show open ground all the time which is fine but I put an outlet backwards on purpose and it still read open ground and not reverse polarity.

These are pretty standard these days for quick outlet inspection of how correctly the outlet is wired. GFIs can also be tested, a nice feature. Works great for me.

Very disappointed it looks like one of the prongs is too big and it doesnt even fit in any of the receptacles.
