> 24 hourI really wish it had lasted longer before it burnt out. While it worked it was a great fan. Somewhat difficult to clean, but very strong and kept my room cool until I turned the a/c on in July. It was used approximately 3-4 months of the year and I bought it 3 years ago - so it took about 12 months of use for it to die. For the price it really should have lasted longer.

> 24 hourMy Lasko helped me get through a very warm Washington summer. I have no air condition in my apartment and this kept it cool enough. I would open up all the windows at night and pushing aside the curtains. I had the fan running near the patio door to really push the cool air in. I also had a smaller fan in the bedroom. Once it started warming up a bit the next morning, I closed everything up and kept the fan running on high. It must have worked because one Monday I had a crew of 4 electricians come through my apartment checking all the circuits and they noted my place was a lot more comfortable than the others. But I want to clarify that it was still warmish because this is NOT an A/C and if a fan is pushing warm air, you are still going to get warmish air that has been cooled somewhat by the circulation. But it did its job by keeping a breeze going and circulating the air so I wasnt sweltering. Is it noisy? Yes. Naturally, as you lower the speed, the less noise it makes, but it does make some noise. It didnt really bother me because I can tune it out while reading a book or am working on my laptop. I just view it as white noise. Quality is a tad less than what I would except for $51, with the case being a bit flimsy, but it handled being knocked over twice by the dog (onto the concrete patio floor) so it is strong enough to deal with a few blows . Overall, I am quite satisfied with the Lasko. Update June 2018: I still have this fan and it has withstood 24/7 running during the summer months for the past two+ years (where temps have reached into the mid 90’s) and we are looking at the same for this summer. The noise has faded into the background and I consider it white noise now. It has never overheated and outside of needing a good cleaning, has held together extremely well. It is currently sitting next to the open patio door pushing some of the cooler late afternoon air into the apartment. Tonight I will move it into the bedroom and place next to an open window for a cooler sleep. Again, it won’t replace an a/c, but until I can afford one this has helped keep me comfortable.

> 24 hourAfter hunting at Wal-Mart, Target, and local stores for this fan of the gods, I turned my search to the internet. Alas my only hopes seemed to be Lowes or Home Depot. On either site the price was amidst double what I would normally pay, but these werent normal circumstances. My trusty wind machine had bit the dust after 3 years of nightly bliss. Its blades purring methodically as the gentle breeze lulls me to sleep. No! I must have a replacement now! Added to my cart, I could feel my sleep slipping away when I read the dates for pick-up. The shipping seemed to be a too far away and a few days without sleep is too much! Finally a voice called out from behind me. Was it the voice of an angel guiding me to those brisk winds of serenity? I heard the voice say, Try Amazon. And indeed I did. I clicked the button and felt my eyes well with tears of joy, I added an extra to my cart just in case. Then guided myself to the proceed to check out where I found one day shipping available! My salvation and breath restored, I now sleep under a blanket of security knowing I have my beautiful dream maker (and an extra in the closet). Heed caution and purchase this fan today before its too late and you find yourself in the same tale of woe as I experienced that horrible night the fan died!

> 24 hourThis fan is lightweight and easy to move around with the top handle. Yes, it will cool the room off which is what I wanted. If you are looking for background noise this is your fan. It easily rotates up and down using the side knobs. The on and off switch is cleverly hidden, unmarked in the back behind the blade hub. This fan however has an issue with shaking while in use. Placed on a level surface at lowest speed it is loud and the entire fan vibrates. On high it vibrates so much that you can hardly read wind machine. Sleep with it, not likely. Its hard to tell how durable it is. It does not appear well made. There are many unfinished sharp edges where the two colors of plastic come together. Update: I returned the above fan for free and was sent a new one within a week. The new fan does not vibrate when in use. It is a bit loud for my likes but it gets the job done even on low. It would make great white noise for those that want it. It definitely cools a room. On the new model received there were no sharp edges. scuffs or dirt as on the previous fan. I am pleased with how this was handled and the function of the fan overall. I would recommend this fan.

> 24 hourNot a deal breaker but the control knob goes loose 3 out of 4 times we use this. Were not over turning it and are now really careful turning it slowly but it still does it. We just pull it all the way off and press it firmly back on again. Doesnt look stripped but dont want to glue it on. We can live with it. Other than that nice fan.
