> 3 dayI wanted a fan that would block out the noise from people partying late at night in my apartment complex and this fan accomplishes that perfectly. Very rarely have to use the 3rd speed as 2 is enough. The 1st speed will give you a nice semi-quiet breeze but it also blocks out people talking outside of my windows. The things you have to do to get some peace but Im so glad I bought this fan as it does everything I want it to do. Also, its very light and portable. You can put it almost anywhere.

> 3 dayOctober 31, 2019 update: I contacted Lasko directly and they sent out a replacement blade and it corrected the issue. Replacing the blade was easy, removing the 4 screws that secured the front grill and the 2 screws that secure the handle. The old blade pulls off and the new one pushes on. That’s it. As mentioned previously, this fan pushes a lot more air than the typical box fans we have, and that was the primary reason for purchase. Original review: October 23 & October 25 for the two fans delivered: I am at a loss to explain what is going on with these fans. I returned the first as it came broken. The replacement unit has an issue with the blades, causing a startup shudder/vibration and a constant vibration (which you can feel through the floor) as it runs. These were new, not refurbished, so it’s hard to explain! My plan is to reach out to the manufacturer before returning for replacement or refund, as I’ve lost faith that a replacement would arrive in good working order! On the plus side, these fans do put out considerably more air than our existing 20” box fans. The box work well and have worked well for years, but they don’t move a lot of air. This was the primary reason to purchase this fan over another box fan. I wish we could get one that isn’t broken and works properly! :(

> 3 dayThis is the 2nd fan I bought. Failed after a couple years, but the fan pretty much runs year round. Not as quite as I would like, but air volume is something Im happy with. I would buy this again.

> 3 dayMy Lasko helped me get through a very warm Washington summer. I have no air condition in my apartment and this kept it cool enough. I would open up all the windows at night and pushing aside the curtains. I had the fan running near the patio door to really push the cool air in. I also had a smaller fan in the bedroom. Once it started warming up a bit the next morning, I closed everything up and kept the fan running on high. It must have worked because one Monday I had a crew of 4 electricians come through my apartment checking all the circuits and they noted my place was a lot more comfortable than the others. But I want to clarify that it was still warmish because this is NOT an A/C and if a fan is pushing warm air, you are still going to get warmish air that has been cooled somewhat by the circulation. But it did its job by keeping a breeze going and circulating the air so I wasnt sweltering. Is it noisy? Yes. Naturally, as you lower the speed, the less noise it makes, but it does make some noise. It didnt really bother me because I can tune it out while reading a book or am working on my laptop. I just view it as white noise. Quality is a tad less than what I would except for $51, with the case being a bit flimsy, but it handled being knocked over twice by the dog (onto the concrete patio floor) so it is strong enough to deal with a few blows . Overall, I am quite satisfied with the Lasko. Update June 2018: I still have this fan and it has withstood 24/7 running during the summer months for the past two+ years (where temps have reached into the mid 90’s) and we are looking at the same for this summer. The noise has faded into the background and I consider it white noise now. It has never overheated and outside of needing a good cleaning, has held together extremely well. It is currently sitting next to the open patio door pushing some of the cooler late afternoon air into the apartment. Tonight I will move it into the bedroom and place next to an open window for a cooler sleep. Again, it won’t replace an a/c, but until I can afford one this has helped keep me comfortable.

> 3 dayBeen using this brand of fan for years. All others were useless wastes of money. My only complaint is that the local drugstore sold these for about $20 a piece. Now its twice that. Hence only four stars. But theyre still worth it. You want wind? This is it. Most fans make noise but dont do much. I hate being hot. I know what works.

> 3 dayWe ordered these to be sent to a family member that lives 1800 miles from here in the southwest. The temperature has been extrememly hot...well over 100 degrees. Plus, living in a very rural area on a dirt road theres been no way to escape the heat. After reading through a hundred + reviews we decided to purchase 2 of these Lasko Wind Machines. Oh my! The difference was nothing less than extraordinary. We were told all she had to do was plug them in. The difference it made with the children was what all parents desire...for the children to be comfortable, happy, plus able to sleep undisturbed. To simply say THANK YOU is an understatement of vast proportions. Our only regret is that we hadnt thought of this sooner. We definitely recommend THIS brand. Simply put, they are the best. Kindest Regards hal & Michelle

> 3 dayI use a fan to sleep with. My current fan, a Lasko box 20 fan, has developed a whine that comes from the motor after several years of nightly use. The whine comes and goes (more so now than before) and keeps me awake or wakes me up. Its a very penetrating whine. I have bought - and returned - six fans so far from local stores in my search for a decent replacement. Everything from a replacement 20 Lasko all the way up to construction-grade floor fans. Every one had some major flaw which, although they all moved air, would probably have shattered glass with their whines. While getting less and less sleep (I live on a busy street, across from a convenience store, near a very loud dog, do not have double-paned windows, take two sleeping aids and still cant sleep) due to the intolerable whines the fans I get all seem to have, I decided to do some research into the best fans for sleeping. I found this 3300 Wind Machine Floor Fan on several sites which said it has a good sound for sleepers, and moves air well. Although its NOT my first choice (the first one was unavailable), I decided to give it a try since it was rated number two by sleepers who use one. The reason it wasnt my first choice is that its a Lasko, and two of the Lasko fans I bought to replace the one I had were painfully messed up for sleeping. I was leery about the brand by now. It arrived very quickly (for which I was grateful), and set-up was all of pulling it out of a box, plugging it in and turning it on. On the bright side, it doesnt seem to have a whine (after listening to it for all of five minutes). But what it has is a distinct rattle or crackle - like somethings loose or rubbing in the motor - that makes it useless for the job I need it to do. Many said it was loud, but it isnt. Its no louder than the Lasko I used to have (A standard $15.00 box fan) and might be a bit quieter because the fan runs at a somewhat lower pitch. It does move air, but Im not sure its any more than the standard box fan. The fan itself is entirely plastic, with the only metal being the motor and the screws that hold it together. It doesnt seem terribly sturdy, but it doesnt seem to be falling apart, either. The reason I gave it a poor construction rating is the flimsy feel to it and the fact the motor (like all motors these days, it seems) has issues. As a fan for NOT sleeping, Im sure its fine. But as a fan for sleeping, stay away from Lasko products. This is the third different Lasko model Ive gotten (out of seven fans Ive tried in the last few months) and all of them were flawed - if a consistent low fan-like hum is what you need to drown out the sounds of the world outside. To be fair, I literally got the thing half an hour ago. I took it apart to make sure the blade wasnt rattling against the motor housing like another Lasko fan I got (in this case, it wasnt), but the motor, when manually turned, doesnt turn quietly at all, so the sound comes from there. Its possible, I suppose, that running it for some time may work that rattle sound out, but my experience with fans is that if you have a sound coming from the motor, it only gets worse with time. Considering the price and the cost of shipping, I wont be returning it. I will follow up on this review if it turns out that the fan is actually better than the first impression gave me. In the meantime, does anyone know of a fan you can buy today whose manufacturer isnt cutting corners (as they seem to be doing these days) and selling fans with substandard, noisy motors?

Greater than one weekI initially wanted a fan with a remote, but ordered this one anyway to replace an older Lasko fan. I would have kept the fan anyway, but it was way too loud (drowned out the TV, etc.) and even the lowest speed produced too much air for use in our bedroom. It would be a great fan for outdoor use though. Didnt care for the fact I had to pay for return shipping, but I should have realized that before purchasing it.
