I love this fan!! It is very sturdy and strong. The floor fans in the stores are flimsy now but this one stays in place no matter which way you angle it.

We ordered these to be sent to a family member that lives 1800 miles from here in the southwest. The temperature has been extrememly hot...well over 100 degrees. Plus, living in a very rural area on a dirt road theres been no way to escape the heat. After reading through a hundred + reviews we decided to purchase 2 of these Lasko Wind Machines. Oh my! The difference was nothing less than extraordinary. We were told all she had to do was plug them in. The difference it made with the children was what all parents desire...for the children to be comfortable, happy, plus able to sleep undisturbed. To simply say THANK YOU is an understatement of vast proportions. Our only regret is that we hadnt thought of this sooner. We definitely recommend THIS brand. Simply put, they are the best. This is a great fan, and very powerful, especially for folks on a budget. Its a bit on the large side for indoor use in a small apartment, but I dont care because its also very powerful, even on the lowest setting. It is very light and easy to move around in spite of its size. It dropped the temperature in my bedroom by two full degrees without my touching the thermostat, in only a couple of hours. So it is very good for the electric bill. The design is great for people with children or (like me) pets. There is no way to knock this fan over with the way it is shaped and the fan blades are well enclosed away from little fingers and paws. I love that I can tilt it toward the ceiling to maximize airflow in the room, or down toward the floor for drying after a good mop. It does make a bit of noise, but its a soothing white sort of noise, and fine for leaving on all night while I sleep.I quite enjoy it, actually. I read so many great reviews about this but one stood out the most because the reviewer posted a great video of the fan. I was going to buy it from Amazon when I got back home but happened to stop in a riteaid drugstore and signed up for their wellness card and recieved an instant $25.00 off AWESOME I am naturally very hot and have my ac running during the winter, so I figured Ill buy it just 3 blocks from home and if Im not happy with it Ill return it. Well, this fan is FANTASTIC, Ive used all 3 settings and am very impressed with how well it moves the air around. I always set my AC at 63-64 65-66 during the winter. With this fan I have my AC set at 66-67 and the fan set at 1 and I feel fantastic, it was 97 the other day and had the setting at 2 and my ac on 66 and actually put a shirt on and set the fan on setting 1 . Thats pretty impressive coming from a person that CANT HANDLE HEAT AT ALL 2 ADDENDUM - 2017 , ORIGINAL FAN PURCHASED IS WORKING FINE HOWEVER, I PURCHASED ANOTHER IT ARRIVED WITH NOTHING TO PROTECT IT FROM BEING BOUNCED AROUNCED DURING TRANSPORT VIEW PHOTO, THIS IS BEING RETURNED . With the ac off I had it turned up to 3 and it has an amazing wind force but you do need the AC for the cold air. So the two make a great marriage and I save money on my energy bill. Very easy to clean the blades, you just unloosen the sides and pull the front off. Its very lite-weight and the handle on top is an added bonus. It does shake when set above 1 but not much and has a nice whisper sound which comforts me. I have a $300.00 bladeless fan I purchased last year and this blows it out of the water. Had I purchased it on Amazon for the 50% more I would have still been thrilled and Im buying another just to keep in another room or as a backup. Perfect name for it, it really is a heck of a wind machine.

My family and I own a lot of fans, from commercial fans to 1hp carpet blowers. We also own several of these Lasko Wind Machines. I like them for several reasons. 1. Quality for the price. Normally I can purchase this model (one of the 3300 series) locally for about $40. $50 isnt a bad price to get it delivered to an elderly parents front door. Quality meaning: they work and continue to work well for many years with little maintenance. 2. Powerful for the price, construction and weight. Its a 10-pound fan that pushes as much cfm as many of my much higher priced metal commercial models that cost at least 2-3x as much. 3. I feel theyre safe. As long as I keep the air-intake free of dust, they never run hot. I have left these running continuously for months without any issues. Every time I vacuum, I clean the fan. I use the large dust brush on the outside and a crevice dusting brush to reach inside. Once a year, I remove the back and give it a good cleaning. Takes a small amount of time. Lasko does not publish the CFM for many (if any) of their fans. Ive seen several responses to the question on different websites about the CFM of the 3300 and they vary. Presently, I am attempting to get Amazon to contact Lasko for the info. ========== Just beware, Lasko customer service is basically non-existent. Over the last few days, I called 1-800-233-0268 six times. My shortest wait time was 24 minutes, my longest wait was 52 minutes. They have not replied to my email placed on their contact page. I had a similar experience in July of 2013 after purchasing a couple of their 4900 fans. Their fans are great but if you have an issue, make sure you return the fan to Amazon before the 30 day return period ends.

This is the second fan like this I have bought. The first one lasted 8 years being on at least 8 hours every night. Hope to get at least that with this one as well. Fan blows very well, noise is on the high side, but not deafning, and both the wife and I like it as a constant background noise. If you want something quiet, this is not it, but again, not loud enough to keep us awake at all. My only real gripes about this fan are 1- it does not point down very far. The table we have it on is a little high and would like it to point down a touch more, but it works 2- speed switch location is in the middle of the back of the fan. Wish it was on top, but not a huge dealbreaker.

So far this is a really good fan. I use it in front of my treadmill to cool me down when I run. I like that it isnt a pedestal fan and it sits on the ground, but it can be rotated up to aim directly at me instead of a traditional box fan which can only be facing forwards. It puts out a good amount of air and even on its lowest setting produces a good breeze. So why four-stars then? Two things. The location of the knob is not very convenient. It is located on the back of hte fan, so when you tilt the fan up, you actually have to reach underneath and behind the fan to get to it. Seems like they couldve put it near the handle or on the side and it wouldve been just fine. Second thing is cord length. Id read many of the reviews and questions and there was talk of cord length, and some said it was 5 feet, some said 6 feet, some said 8 feet, so there didnt seem to be a lot of agreement. I havent actually measured it, but Id guess it is closer to 5 feet, maybe even less... meaning that pretty much anyone will have to run an extension cord to use it no matter where they want it unless its right near an outlet. I get this is true of a lot of fans, but was really hoping to be able to plug it in without an extension cord.

This fan is lightweight and easy to move around with the top handle. Yes, it will cool the room off which is what I wanted. If you are looking for background noise this is your fan. It easily rotates up and down using the side knobs. The on and off switch is cleverly hidden, unmarked in the back behind the blade hub. This fan however has an issue with shaking while in use. Placed on a level surface at lowest speed it is loud and the entire fan vibrates. On high it vibrates so much that you can hardly read wind machine. Sleep with it, not likely. Its hard to tell how durable it is. It does not appear well made. There are many unfinished sharp edges where the two colors of plastic come together. Update: I returned the above fan for free and was sent a new one within a week. The new fan does not vibrate when in use. It is a bit loud for my likes but it gets the job done even on low. It would make great white noise for those that want it. It definitely cools a room. On the new model received there were no sharp edges. scuffs or dirt as on the previous fan. I am pleased with how this was handled and the function of the fan overall. I would recommend this fan.
