This is the best drug store foundation for extremely fair-skinned women, in my opinion. It matches my skin tone perfectly (which is difficult to do-- I tried 32 foundations in preparation for my wedding!). It gives me a dewy look at first but becomes more matte over time. I apply it with a Beauty Blender, but it goes on fine with your fingers too. I use a lot more when applying by hand. The coverage isnt 100% and doesnt last ALL day, but if you want that type of coverage for this skin tone you should expect to pay a lot more. (If youre going that route, I recommend BECCA products- their lightest color is the lightest Ive seen on the market and although application is trickier, it really does provide full coverage for 12+ hours) This is perfect for everyday wear because it feels light, doesnt get cakey, slimey, or greasy, and lasts a solid 8+ hours for me. Pairs well over or under concealers, too.

This is a wonderful feeling foundation. It spreads well, blends well, and covers slight freckles and blemishes but I chose what I believed to be the lightest color, buff, and its still too dark... : ( Can anyone tell me if ivory is any lighter? Okay, Update: I bought Ivory and I must take this up a notch from 4 stars to 5. The feel on my skin is fantastic, considering (I am naturally super oily and in all fairness I have NOT found a makeup that can deal), it sinks into my skin nicely, it covers well for me. What makes it cover well for me? I have light (sometimes ghostly where people beg me to get some sunlight) skin. Aforementioned, I have oily skin and very few wrinkles. I dont have pockmarks although I do get acne. My acne varies between whiteheads to downright cystic acne. Theres not much you can do to cover cystic acne; theyre not selling miracle in a bottle. It does cover whiteheads to the point where they are at least your skin tone. I am an avid user of retin-A so scarring and the dark coloration goes away quickly. I do not believe that if you have significant darkening from acne that this will be the product for you. For THIS issue I would strongly suggest Bare Minerals; I believe that they are calling themselves Bare Essentials now. Its that mineral makeup. Get the summer bisque concealer (if you are fair toned) and you WILL be covered. The main reason that I dont use this mineral makeup is that I dont require that kind of coverage and it appears to exacerbate my oily skin. The makeup itself is almost impossible to wash off (at least that was the old formula I dont know what it is like now) so its a great go to makeup if you plan to sweat. Also a little moisture blends it in better. In fact, it is suggested that you spritz your face with water and blend in for a more natural look. NOW BACK TO THIS MAKEUP.... : ) This is a fantastic makeup if you have acne but acne that doesnt leave much scarring or dark spots. I would consider this a medium coverage makeup. Lastly, I would not recommend for dry skin especially if you are concerned about makeup that makes fine lines more noticable.

This foundation is amazing. I was wearing this when I went into labor. I labored for over 12 hours, pushed for 3 hours, and ended up with a csection late at night. The next morning this foundation was still on my face after all of that and looked pretty good. I was shocked. The only downside to it is the coverage is very light. If you are looking to cover acne or spots this won’t help you much.

I have converted all of my cosmetics to pricey all natural/cruelty free products but unfortunately I still cant find a foundation that I like as much as this stuff. The ivory color that I buy matches my skin tone perfectly (fair with pink undertone). I love that it has SPF (another barrier for my fair skin in addition to my moisturizer), and it provides just enough coverage for me. I have tried many other foundations in an attempt to switch over, but all of them were too heavy, too greasy, and/or rubbed off really easily. I would say that this has light-medium coverage depending on how heavy your hand is but it stays put. I have dry/picky skin and this formula seems to work well for me. Until I can find a natural alternative, Ill continue to use this.

I loved Almay foundation in the past but the past 2 times I have bought this exact foundation off of Amazon, it comes out cakey. I make sure not to apply to much but it just does not look natural or flawless as it used to. It does come off easy under masks but I did expect that. Good for sensitive skin. Would not recommend.

I have used this make-up for years, and really like it. I think it looks very natural if you get your color right. It has never given me any problems with breakouts, and I do have acne-prone skin. It lasts all day until removed, but you need make-up remover, as soap wont work very well to get it all off. Ponds or Neutrogena cleansing towelettes work great. One thing that Im disappointed about is that Almay reformulated their product so it no longer contains sunscreen. It was one of the only foundations that had a Titanium Dioxide, non-chemical sunscreen. Even though the product description here claims that it still does, it does not! I first noticed this at the Target where I usually get it. When I saw it here on Amazon, I thought maybe this was the older formula that still had the SPF 15. I took a chance, but when it was delivered it was the same as at Target. No SPF! It doesnt seem to affect the look or feel, but I will be looking out for a new foundation with SPF.

I had sensitive skin back in the sixties, it was one of the only products available. Been using ever since; purchased it locally at Walgreens or Walmart but they no longer carry it. Thank God for Amazon!
