Works fine as expected

Its an optical drive....it plays cds and dvds...it does it very well. It was very easy to install and the price was right so i made the magic happen.

I have been using Lite-On for well over ten years now, going back to the CD drive days. I bought this one to replace a drive that was 8 years old. The one I got is very quiet and burns great. I have read about some people having issues with the noise and dieing within a year. If you look at most of those they are for the BLU-RAY burners, which I can not comment on since I do not do blu-rays.

Its hard to get worked up over an optical drive but I am very pleased. The DVD burner arrived at the earliest specified delivery date. It came with everything shown and installed easily in the case and was recognized by the motherboard. I havent installed or used the Nero software, and Ive only used it for loading Windows and drivers in the new build and everything was quick and good. I look forward to testing it out beyond that. So far, no problems. Dont expect fancy, it came in a plain brown box, but afterwards it looks better than some units sitting in your case in the 5 1/2 bay. I would purchase it again.

worked in a few simple strokes... removed old burner/player.. installed new burner/player .. inserted included driver disc... restarted computer with disc inserted.... disc self installed driver.... removed install disc... burner/player works without a glitch...

I like that it came all new parts to install the drive. This made it easy to replace my old dvd drive really fast. The new dvd drive is working right really fine. It has alot of speed on it.
