> 3 dayI don’t know how this blocks smell from escaping, but it definitely does! Complete odor control. Only (slight) problem is having to judge yourself how much to pull out, and when you remove it, it’s only as strong as your ability to tie plastic knots. I wish they’d come up with a way to measure out the appropriate size, or maybe create single use bags. But it most definitely does what it’s supposed to. No smell!

> 3 dayI use these to direct waste down into a regular 3 gal plastic bag (googled a hack for the litter genie). It works well, but it gets used up fast which is why I had to google a hack.

> 3 dayI love that you can pull it out to any length wanted. Definitely holds the smell. Once you take it out & tie it up, you can smell the bag & cant smell poop. Yes I tried to smell cat poop. No other way to find out if it held odor as described lol. Im not good at tying knots in anything but my shoes so I use zip ties.

> 3 dayWe have three cats and my husband does the litter daily and was using a kitchen trash bag every day for the chore. It drove me nuts that I had to waste a trash bag if one of the cats did something extra stinky during the day. I bought the Litter Genie and my husband thought I was nuts. After a few weeks, he agreed that it was a great idea. If during the day I need to get an extra scooping in, the handy Litter Genie is right there. He empties the Genie once a week, and a refill lasts us about a month. The cat poop sitting in the Genie is in there so well that it doesnt let off any smell. We love this!!

Satisfied Customer!
> 3 dayThis product is great! No odors escape and I fill the Litter Genie throughout the day cleaning up after 3 cats. The Litter Genie takes 4 days to fill before I have to tie off a bag and that means I only have to throw away a full bag twice a week. No smell for 4 days with 3 cats is amazing! I use Hartz Multi-Cat Lightweight Recycled Clumping Paper Litter that is odorless, super lightweight, and does a great job of trapping odors. The two products combined have made my home odor free :)

> 3 dayLove the Litter Genie. Very easy to use and keeps litter box area much cleaner. Once bag is full, tie top, cut on the enclosed blade. Tie bottom portion of new bag, which will then create a seal for next use. Probably sounds confusing to some but actually very simple. One of the best things Ive ever bought for my kitties.

> 3 dayIm so impressed with these bags. The only thing I dont like about it is that you have to cut it and retie it as you go along. I can suck that up for the odor control. I fostered a litter of kittens who were very sick with the smelliest poops on the planet and that is when I bought the litter genie and the refill bags. Worth every penny. Now that the kittens have all been adopted, I am still using these bags for my 1 cat.

> 3 dayI have had my cat/buddy, Toby since shortly after my husband passed away last year and I downsized. I had also experienced probably the worst thing that can happen to you after a knee replacement(wont go into details, but think someone put an IED into my leg). Because of that and the fact that although my unit is on the first floor, I need to walk up ten steps, so needless to say I cant take out my garbage. For a couple of months I cleaned out the litter into a plastic bag that went into the garbage, but there was a smell that I just could not take. I looked at the automatic litter cleaners, but reviews were mixed and I didnt want Toby getting caught in a moving rake thing. I figured I would give this a try. Havent they had something like this for diapers for years? At first I thought it was no big deal, you scoop the clumps into the hopper and pull the spring door out the clumps drop and the spring door snaps back into place. After I started using it, there was an improvement in the smell of the garbage. My daughter comes a couple times a week to empty garbage but it takes longer than even two weeks to fill if you shake contents down. She wasnt able to get over when it was full so I went back to the plastic bags. I use a rollator so I would put the bag onto the tray scoop and bring the clumps up to tray height to deposit the clumps. Well, this became a disaster of sorts when the clumps fell towered the outer side of the bag and flipped the bag over, sending the clumps to the floor where they broke up. I realized that the height of this receptical is perfect and the clumps cant fall out. When the receptical is full, you just pull the bag out of the cartridge enough to cut it and tie it off. Then you just pull the plastic material out of the cartridge and tie it off the you are ready to go. It takes quite a long period of time with one cat and there is absolutely no odor. You just buy the receptacle and it comes with a beginner cartridge with the plastic material. Each regular cartridge lasts a good amount of time. I have been using this for about a year and I like the convenience and no odor!

Greater than one weekI have two cats who are too prolific with their waste; consequently, a convenient disposal option is necessary. The cat genie system is exactly what I needed and I have two, one for each cat box. I have put the refills on automatic reorder, so I conveniently receive the refills just-in-time saving money and storage space. The refills allow for storing cat waste without odor until time to take out to the garbage. The built-in cutter in the genie allows for a custom-sized disposal bag each time the waste is removed, thereby eliminating wasted bags. While I spend more on this product than I did when I used plastic groceries bags to clean the cat box, this allows me to use reusable bags at the grocery which is more environmentally friendly without concern that I am not stocking up with grocery bags for litter disposal. I am grateful to the fellow cat lover who recommended this product to me!

> 3 dayThis is an AMAZING product. I love my litter genie, it doesnt stink at all and makes cleaning the litter box way easier! I have two, one at each litter box location, and, if I werent so lazy, I would use a LOT more of these. But I am a lazy SoB, so when it gets full, I go back to using plastic bags until Im about to go on vacation where I change it to make it less of a hassle for the cat sitter to clean the litter box. Really, I need to stop being so lazy and use it more, because it cuts litter box cleaning time in half and looks a lot better than the tied up plastic bags-o-poop/pee that sit on top of it when it gets full.
