> 3 dayPrior to buying the Litter Genie Cat Litter Disposal System my wife and I resorted to saving plastic bags and eventually buying them by the roll. What we hated was how we had to immediately take the garbage out or somehow the next morning the whole house would stink no matter how tight we tied the bag. With the Little Genie, we simply scoop the litter into the Genie. When it fills (usually about 1-1.5 weeks) we simply open the case, pull some slack, use the built in cutter, tie a knot and take it out. Then we tie one more knot and its good to go for another week. We just added this to our subscribe and save so will be getting these automatically going forward.

> 3 dayI use these to direct waste down into a regular 3 gal plastic bag (googled a hack for the litter genie). It works well, but it gets used up fast which is why I had to google a hack.

> 3 dayWow.....I havent any idea why, but these all went on sale last night for $2.49! I managed to buy 3 and when I checked back later they went up even higher than before? This company should realistically drop the price, they would sell so much more which would bring the manufacturing costs down. Like everyone else I love the litter genie but hate paying for the refills. Other companies know this and charge less while also giving longer refills. For what I paid and the quality Id give 10 stars everyday.

Greater than one weekI love the Litter Genie. It saves me a dozen trash bags a week, and makes the cats bathroom smells better. The cartridge has good enough design, and the pull down bags are thick and great quality. It takes a minute to remove the litter filled bag, and install the new one. The only complaint I have are the cartridges are a bit expensive. My cat is very active and produce a lot. So a genie cartridge definitely does not last two months. But thats not a flaw in the product itself. So I still give this a 5 star. Another thing I havent figure out is when the bag would run out. I dont keep track, or I lost track all the time. So I do cheat by using regular 13 gallon bags in the Litter Genie. Using the garbage bags is a good way to save, and its always well stocked at home (if not, grocery bags can be used though a bit short). But the garbage bags are much thinner, get caught in the divider sometimes, does not shield odor as well, and cost a few minutes to install. So I still purchase the refill cartridge from Amazon. Because Im not sure when the included bag would run out, I keep the empty cartridge ring and use it with garbage bags when I run out of included bags. Heres how I use the cartridge ring and included bags: Follow direction to install bag. Tie the bottom of the bag with a rubber band. Heres how I use garbage bags: Open up garbage bag. Install bag similar to original bag with the opening wrapped around the cartridge ring. Add a rubber band to secure garbage bag around the cartridge below the black top. One thing I do pay special attention to is when I install/remove bags on the Genie, I always wear disposable gloves. I remove litter and replace bags every week, but dont wash the Genie every week. Because theres no way to avoid litter coming into contact with the pail, I always try to play safe.

> 3 dayim a rescue mama, and im also legally disabled so being able to keep the litter box at least reasonably clean without necessarily having to dump a trash bag every day is appreciated. this works pretty well for me, and when i had my bbs pet-sat this summer my pet-sitter was yeah, these are good setups, a lot of my clients have one and i appreciate that you do. basically when i see the last one sitting out im time to order another.

> 3 dayTried making do with other methods but came back for the great odor control and convenience. Only problem is dont really know when Im at the end of the roll. This will cause it to fall with all the weight of the litter. I have it as a convenience for my cat sitter to scoop out every day without having to take it out to the trash outside every time. If she had to take it out every time she might not scoop! Unfortunately, I found liner had fallen when I came back from a trip, but at least she scooped! Easy to wash out and start again clean and fresh.

> 3 dayOkay I got this to dispose of used clump litter and hopefully dispose of odors too. And not have to run to the dumpster every day. I am skeptical as far as holding the odors. Just set it up today. Set up instructions are vague. I will update my review at a later date. It is now 9/6/2014. 8/16/2015 I have canned the whole idea of this product. I have four cats and this concept was a good idea for 1 cat. My Cons - Product (container part) too small. Mouth of container not wide enough for LARGE clumps - disposal bags wastes too much for disposal for tie off etc. Yes, it did contain the odor and that was a Pro for the product. In the end the product went in the garbage as durability and my cons did not work in the end. I gave this product in the beginning 3 stars but after using for a while I now give it ONE STAR.
