Ive been using an HP 1500 wired mouse for over 10 years. Was about to order the same model (they sell it here on Amazon) when I saw this mouse. Since it has the same basic shape and is wired (hate messing with batteries at the most inoppourtune time in a game) I ordered it after a little research. I like everything about the mouse except the software you need to download to change button features. Some reviews and the Logitech site said GHub works. It didnt on my 64 bit Windows 7. Digging further, I found that the the older software version, Logitech Gaming Software, worked. I was able to change the features I wanted. The problem is that installing this software and its drivers killed my Logitech joystick. Since I created a restore point prior to installing the software, I just used Windows System Restore to unistall the software and drivers. Thankfully, I had selected to save the changed features onto the mouses internal memory so all the changes I made were still there. So if I want to change features in the future, Ill have to create a restore point, install LGS, make my changes, save to mouse memory, then uninstall LGA via system restore.

EDIT: Updated to 2 stars because I found a workaround. I was able to use an OLD laptop (8 year old MacBook that doesnt have the newest OS) which could run the outdated Logitech Gaming Software to be able to program the buttons. After I set it, I could use the mouse on my current laptop so at least the buttons have functions. Would not be able to change the buttons unless I went back the the old laptop to reset it but of course that is inconvenient and unlikely to happen. Sad Logitech considers this mouse obsolete. Its really their best one and I really wished they would allow it to work on GHub. === 1 star. This is actually my favorite mouse and I used one for many years. It stopped working so I replaced with the G502 Hero. The G502 is great except the scrolling is terrible, constantly over-scrolling. I saw the G300s was available and purchased right away. The problem is that this mouse does not use the GHub software. You have to download the OLD software - Logitech Gaming Software in order to use it and program the keys. This program is outdated and will not run on any newer Macs. Logitech claims this is an obsolete mouse which is why there is no support. Trying to figure out a way to get it to work but if its not possible, I will return it.

I first purchased this mouse in April of 2017 and I loved it. At the time it was the best mouse that Ive ever owned. The software was easy to download and install which allowed me to customize the lighting, adjust the DPI settings, and bind keys to the buttons. Once I had my settings in place I stored them onboard the mouse and never used the software again. Three and a half years later I have a new computer and my mouse if finally starting to wear out. (The mouse itself is a wonderful product) Naturally I ordered another one. When it arrived and I went to the Logitech website to download the new software-which would allow me to adjust the DPI, change the color scheme, and rebind the keys- the G hub software would not detect the Logitech product. I made sure that the drivers were up to date through windows and through the software folder (which at one point actually contained drivers according to older videos of how to fix this problem on Youtube) The drivers were not the problem. Ive gone through numerous trouble shooting tips and under no circumstances will the G hub software detect the mouse, nor is there any way to get drivers through the Logitech site. The software was updated to the latest version and still nothing works. Its sad. I love this mouse, its the only one Ive ever used that was comfortable for my small hands and had just enough keys for me to do the things that I need to do in games, and its no longer a viable option for me because the software that supports it is so bloated and useless. EDIT: I finally got the right software to work. The Logitech Gaming Software is the only software in the software maze on the Logitech site that will actually work with this mouse. Not only that, but the current version-which states that it is compatible with Windows 10-will give you a message saying otherwise when you try to install it. So not only do you have to navigate the Logitech maze of software packages *(Many of them claiming to work with their mouse products, while in fact not working) you will also have to use an older version of the Logitech gaming software to actually be able to customize your mouse functions.

The mouse is relatively comfortable even in my giant hands, and as a leftie, and certainly does its job well. If I was to utilize the extra buttons on it, Id like it FAR more than the usual gaming mouses buttons, as theyre placed differently, and their location is FAR superior in that it is far less likely for me to accidentally bump them while using it. Ive had a more classically laid out gaming mouse, and could not stand where the buttons were placed because I would constantly bump them. All in all, its a good mouse, especially so if youre looking for a cheaper priced gaming mouse. Id certainly say to give it a go if youre on the hunt for a new moose. Er... louse? House... no no thats not right... AH WELL, you get the point haha

Worked fine until exactly the 2-year mark. Daily but not overheavy or abusive use. The trigger button under the left-click then started malfunctioning: double-clicking for a single-click; requiring a forceful push to make any click at all. I opened it up to inspect: no dust or grime. Gave up and spent $20 on eBay for an ancient (turn-of-the-century) Logitech MX510, now my third, which I know to be built with quality components!

This is perfect for me, the right size and placement of the buttons, ALL the buttons are programmable including the dpi buttons . both the left side and right side buttons work, not like some ambidextrous mice that only one side or the other works. The most important thing is it works on linux and I use input re-mapper with no problems,so I didnt have to set this up on another pc. I dont know how long it will last so Im buying a back-up, especially at this price.( nothing lasts anymore, so I dont expect this to last more than a year, but Ill hope for better) Oh I use this for 3d graphics in blender. works great in blender.

Excellent mouse, especially for the price. That it has a pinched body makes all of the buttons easy to use. I previously owned (well still own) a much more expensive logitech gaming mouse (g700s) and the layout of the mouse and placement of the buttons made almost all of them unusable. With the pinched design, you can freely move your index and middle fingers around to any of the top buttons very easily and intuitively. works extremely well with the g13 lefthand gamepad. The automatic game detecting settings work for both devices at the same time, and both devices share the set of per-game functions, so you can assign them to gamepad or mouse buttons very easily, and move them around at will. None of the buttons are dedicated to specific functions like switching profiles or DPI (or even mouse clicks/scrolling) so you can get really creative with how you configure this thing. The actuation force of all of the buttons (and the scroll wheel) are extremely low but also satisfyingly tactile, so you get an appropriate amount of feedback without requiring stressful contortions to get enough leverage to engage the buttons. I wear a large sized glove (which is average/small for men) and the distance and spacing between buttons is perfect for my hand geometry. In my opinions, this sort of button configuration is optimal for both gaming and productivity. When you want it to be a regular mouse, all of the extra functionality is out of the way, when you want to take advantage of the extra buttons, they are within reach and actuating them accurately is not difficult. Best mouse I have ever owned, and one of the cheapest too!

Ive had one of these for the past 4 1/2 years, amazing build quality. Fairly comfortable and good response times.

I really like the symmetrical textured design and it’s easily programmable lighting/customization with button mapping features. Perfect for everyday use and basic gaming needs without having to spend big for it.
