> 24 hourI first purchased this mouse in April of 2017 and I loved it. At the time it was the best mouse that Ive ever owned. The software was easy to download and install which allowed me to customize the lighting, adjust the DPI settings, and bind keys to the buttons. Once I had my settings in place I stored them onboard the mouse and never used the software again. Three and a half years later I have a new computer and my mouse if finally starting to wear out. (The mouse itself is a wonderful product) Naturally I ordered another one. When it arrived and I went to the Logitech website to download the new software-which would allow me to adjust the DPI, change the color scheme, and rebind the keys- the G hub software would not detect the Logitech product. I made sure that the drivers were up to date through windows and through the software folder (which at one point actually contained drivers according to older videos of how to fix this problem on Youtube) The drivers were not the problem. Ive gone through numerous trouble shooting tips and under no circumstances will the G hub software detect the mouse, nor is there any way to get drivers through the Logitech site. The software was updated to the latest version and still nothing works. Its sad. I love this mouse, its the only one Ive ever used that was comfortable for my small hands and had just enough keys for me to do the things that I need to do in games, and its no longer a viable option for me because the software that supports it is so bloated and useless. EDIT: I finally got the right software to work. The Logitech Gaming Software is the only software in the software maze on the Logitech site that will actually work with this mouse. Not only that, but the current version-which states that it is compatible with Windows 10-will give you a message saying otherwise when you try to install it. So not only do you have to navigate the Logitech maze of software packages *(Many of them claiming to work with their mouse products, while in fact not working) you will also have to use an older version of the Logitech gaming software to actually be able to customize your mouse functions.

> 24 hourThe buttons on top are very important so that my husband doesnt hit the wrong button while gaming. The mouse works great but this is his second one. The first one lasted about 18 months, I hope this one lasts longer.

> 24 hourA pretty impressive mouse with only a few drawbacks that honestly are opinionated based on handsize or how you like your mouse to be in terms of size and button locations. Pros : + Clicks feel solid, not cheap. + The side buttons on top of the regular left and right clicks are responsive and surprisingly DONT get in the way of normal use. + Features software you download from Logitechs website that allows you to create 3 sets of DPI settings, each its own represented color (I have my main set on red, as my entire setup revolves around a Red/Black color scheme) which then allow 5 separate settings within a set, which is easily customized from the software. + In addition from the above comment, you can easily change between the settings within your current DPI scheme, or change over to a different scheme with the buttons below the mousewheel. Very useful if you need a sudden controlled DPI change, or saving a scheme for FPS use then a scheme for RTS, ect. + This can be a pro or con, but the mousewheel has a slight clicking feel to it when scrolling which is great, yet its solid rubbery coating might be a turnoff for some people. + Im a hybrid Claw/Palm holder, and this feels comfortable to use for both styles. Cons : - Its a smaller mouse. I have slightly larger hands with long fingers and this mouse felt just a tad bit too small for me at first, but ive gotten use to it. Yet this might not be much of an issue for Claw style grips. - The wire is long enough to manage a normal under-the-desk setup of a tower, yet the wiring seems thin and delicate. Id advise slight caution when handling when putting it away or moving it around. - Pro or Con depending on your taste for the feel or texture of a mousewheel, as its about the same you would get from a standard Dell mouse or something of the sort you find in a computer lab or library. This does not take away from the overall use of the mousewheel, it works great. - The DPI setting software was a little confusing at first, i recommend playing around with the settings to understand how it works.

> 24 hourI have come to the ironic conclusion that this mouse is not the best for gaming, but good for everything else. The mouse software is not the most reliable, and will sometimes switch profiles in the middle of games which is very frustrating. It happens rarely, but enough to be a recurring annoyance. I have one of these at my work office too. As a graphic designer, being able to map six additional buttons to Adobe tools has seriously improved my workflow. Its very comfortable to use all day, and well-built with sturdy hardware. It has only a bit of the gamer aesthetic, so I am not too embarrassed to have it at work. The mouse software doesnt crash and switch profiles while Im at work. As my work computer has more RAM, I suspect that on my home gaming setup, the Logitech software gets force closed during resource intense games.

> 24 hourI like Logitec. The secondary buttons are very close to l/r mouse buttons. Too easy to click those by mistake.

> 24 hourThis is a good gaming mouse with some good qualities. It has a long wire which is good for a desktop gaming setup but with a laptop it can be a little weird. A mouse bungee will fix this for just a standard weight you can put on top of the wire (I use a stapler and that works great). The mouse is lightweight which is nice, the mouse has a lot of plastic which makes it feel cheap but to keep it light they had to do it, so I cannot blame Logitech for this. It was dpi up to about 2500 which is much more than anyone can feasibly use so this is fine. The software is useful and helps a lot. The game detection is nice so you can have different key binds and DPIs for different games without having to manually switch it. For the price it is good. The lights are nice, it would be great if they automatically changed colors and had a breathing effect but that is not a big deal to me. If I were looking for a good entry level mouse this is great for that but more serious gamers may want a wireless mouse with weights.

> 24 hourSo Im a tall woman and I thought the petite size might be better than the M720 which I bought simultaneously to test. Although its thinner, its actually LESS ergonomically comfortable than the M720 which is chunkier. This one is smaller than your hand which requires some hand tension. I expected to like this better because its wired and thus less prone to nonsense, but I didnt. The main killer is that the Logitech software for this mouse doesnt allow you to assign any of the billion buttons to double click! Thats idiotic. Conversely, the Logitech software for teh M720 allows you to assign an advanced click option of double click to the middle mouse wheel which is awesome. Skip this one and try the other if you can handle having a bluetooth/USB mouse (it does both.) If you cant live without a wired mouse and dont mind no double click, this might be fine for you.

> 24 hourThe main selling point of this mouse is that it has programmable buttons and onboard memory. Onboard memory basically allows you to save your mouse settings, and then move it to another computer, and have those programmed buttons still work. Without onboard memory, the programmable buttons only work on the computer that you have installed software. So - this becomes important if you move the mouse between different computers, or to work where you dont have administration privileges to install software. At this price point - few mice have on board memory. So - Logitech has two different software out there that you can use to program your peripherals. There is the older Logitech Gaming Software (LGS) and the newer Logitech G Hub. This mouse only works with the older LGS - it will not work with G Hub. Right now there arent a lot of things that G Hub offers that you cant get on LGS, but who knows that the future holds. Back to those programmable buttons - you can save to on board memory any single keystroke or combination of keystrokes (ie. ctrl-something or ctl-alt-something), but you cant save a whole series of keystrokes to memory. If you want to save more complicated commands - then you must have the LGS software installed. Its overall a pretty comfortable mouse. Its light - so if you prefer a heavier mouse this aint the mouse for you. The led lights are useful because they change when you cycle between the 3 different saved profiles - each profile can have buttons programmed differently as well as a different dpi.

> 24 hourIts a great gaming mouse if you dont need a scroll wheel and was really good until that failed after a few months. Very disappointing. The rest of the mouse is still going strong and seems built well enough. I expected the buttons to give out before the scroll. Ive been wearing out mice since the 80s and its usually the buttons that fail first. I cant recommend it and will replace it with a different product. Poorly executed Logitech.

> 24 hourThe G300s is my first gaming mouse. Until now I had been using a Logitech M510 wireless. I have large hands, so for me, the M510 was a more comfy fit, as its a tad longer than the G300s. However, the G300s is still pretty comfortable and features a symmetrical build, so that it would also suit lefties. The software is easy to use. The LEDs are cool. The scroll wheel is a little on the small side, so it can take some getting used to for bigger handed folks. Theres no squeak whatsoever to the wheel though, and its rubber coated and feels good. The USB cable is pretty thin and flimsy, however, it is nice and long, 6 ft or so I reckon. So I was happy that I didnt have to re-position my case from being on my left side. The gaming buttons are nice. Im glad I can finally use my mouse for my mic button rather than half to stop and hit a keyboard key while in game. So far the response time does seem significantly quicker than with the wireless mouse I was using before. I recommend using this mouse with a mouse pad, which will be my next purchase. It does seem a bit friction-y on my bare wood desk. The left and right click buttons both feature that nice click feeling that Im familiar with having used logitechs before. All-in-all, for under 30 bucks, this is a great budget gaming mouse. UPDATE: Ive since purchased a Redragon mousepad, and must say, the mouse works and feels great on a mouse pad. And after a couple months of heavy use, everything is working wonderfully. No squeaking of the mouse wheel, and the click buttons and programmable buttons still work like new
