> 3 dayIf you want to add another switch for an existing light and dont want to spend so much on electrical work (adding wirings on the wall, etc), this is the answer. We just installed one and it works great.

> 3 dayNeed a switch and dont want to rip out drywall to install. Get these. I have about 8 installed now. I put a switch up where ever the wife wants one and she loves them. Though I have it, I dont use the phone app, but it seems like it would be no big deal.

Greater than one weekadvertised as smart switch-not really smart unless you buy a bridge. Of course, the item I actually ordered might be different

> 3 dayI keep being tempted by this or that other smart switch, but theyre all nightmares to install and flakey to pair. These things work in every situation Ive thrown them in, first time, every time. My sanity is worth a few bucks at the end of the day. I do with theyd kept the ability to remove the dimmer. A past version had that ability. Not a big deal, and more my fault for not buying a non-dimming switch in the once instance I needed it.

Greater than one weekThe setup was pretty easy, but I was getting ghosting and dim lights on my LEDs. Turns out, by design, a little voltage runs down the circuit in order to power the wireless part. It took me a lot of time troubleshooting and some holes in my walls and floors to figure out what that was. Im a bit salty. I ended up moving the switch to another circuit and using a non-wireless one for the circuit I had it on .

> 3 dayWhen we gut-remodeled our dining room 12 years ago, I wired some granularity into the lighting. A set of Lutron Maestro dimmers controlled everything, which worked great with incandescent lighting. Weve since replaced the old hot incandescents and halogens with LEDs. Going from 300 watts to 30 watts on the chandelier alone seemed like a good move, and it all looks great. We needed new controllers, though, because the Maestros could not handle low-load lighting. We also wanted to integrate the controls with our Wink hubs (and later, Alexa working with Wink). We purchased four Leviton vizia rf+ (VRMX1-1L) dimmers, which turned out to be a miserable choice. While these are Z-Wave compatible, their trim level is not adjustable, and so the LEDs would not dim through their full range without flickering. The most challenging load, a single 6-watt tubular lamp in a china cabinet, has worked only intermittently over the past two years. Add to that the fact that these dimmers (mercifully discontinued) are bulky and sport five beefy wires that must be accommodated in a crowded 4-gang box—and cheap ill-fitting faceplates that made it difficult to dim the lights at the switch—and you can see why we regretted our mistake. I have installed Caseta dimmers in other parts of the house, so decided to replace the Leviton devices with these. They will cost between $5 and $10 more than the comparable Leviton dimmer, but they are much higher quality. The most significant difference is that Caseta does not require a neutral wire, and so it simply installs between your hot (black) incoming wire and the leg going to the load you are controlling—it doesnt matter which black lead is connected to which of those two wires. I have black wire 1 of all four Casetas tied to the hot wire, and black wire 2 of each Caseta tied to its respective load wire. Tie all the ground (green) wires to ground, and youre done. Simplicity itself. All the lamps now dim appropriately, and can be controlled by Wink, Alexa voice, Alexa app, or even by touching the actual switches. The 6W cabinet lamp, in particular, now works properly rather than flashing due to overdrive by the previous switch. As a bonus, since I spent the $5 extra to get the Pico remote/wall plate kit bundled in (which youll find is a bargain if you go to purchase those separately), Im considering adding a second appearance of the switches at the outside entrance to the dining room. I had not done this when I installed the original wiring due to cost, but the Picos make this a trivial addition.
