> 3 dayI bought mine at Home Depot, so I paid a bit more for it, and I thought it pretty pricey for a light. Since I have the Makita 18V batteries, I bit the bullet anyway, and I am very glad I did. Its a great light, a charge lasts a long time even with the 3 AH batteries, and this is now the first light I reach for. The head that pivots two ways makes it very versatile, and unlike a mains-powered drop light, it doesnt produce a lot of heat. I find that the low setting is often enough.

> 3 dayIve invested about $3000 in Makita 18V LXT tools and batteries...so getting accessories like this light was a no-brainer. Received it today and was rather disappointed with how low profile the LED lighting element is...just seems too flimsy for jobsite or automotive use. I also have a DeWalt 20V LED light and that is absolutely wonderful. Im fearing the Makita might be cheaping out on stuff now.

> 3 dayGreat flood light. I often use this when visiting places with no indoor lighting. The bendy adjustable hook and the flexibility of the light itself lends to some pretty creative ways of getting it to stay put in a variety of locations and positions. Durability of the parts you interact with seems to be pretty good; the button holds up to lots of use, the swivel hinge seems pretty stout, and the battery connection seems solid after many uses. Likely would not survive an overhead drop on the ground with a battery attached since the plastic does not appear to be the typical polycarbonate used in other Makita tools. With a little 2 amp hour battery running at half power, itll last just about an entire night or a full day, with periodically setting it to higher power. Ive now bought THREE of these and its kinda my favorite light :) It comes packaged with some goofy hook and a lanyard which is kinda fiddly. I cant imagine anyone actually uses that. It might be nice if there were another built in hook that flipped out of the end the battery connects. Makes a half decent walking around light, if youre out at night with a group and someones got a standard flashlight, being the guy with a floodlight offers a nice benefit, so long as youre careful to not beam people in the eyes with the wide, bright array of light.

> 3 dayI have one for my woodshop. It is GREAT for a raking light to see dings and swirls in the wood and issues in the finish when sanding and finishing as the light lays flat on its side and you can walk it down the surface. Worth it just for that purpose alone. I bought another one for the downstairs and one for my bedroom as it is a GREAT work light for things like reading labels and small print, trimming nails, finding the thingamabob that you dropped on the floor, cleaning the filters in the stove and fridge, cleaning in dark corners, going outside to find something in the car. It is so bright and lights up so much area that it makes even very bright flashlights seem useless. The only negative is trying to figure out where the switch is on the thing. If you already have the batteries, buy one (or more!)
