> 3 dayI have gutted a house and have been replacing the ceilings and adding a lot of downlights to both brighten rooms during the short winter days and to highlight different parts of the rooms or to set moods. To do all of that, I made a test bench where I could easily swap out different light switches and LED downlights. Not all switches work with all LED lights and not all LED lights are dimmable. Some downlights make buzzing noises when you try to dim them, others just switch off and others wont dim less than 90% of full brightness. And different switch / LED downlight combinations can achieve different results. These lights by Meconard claim to be dimmable from 3% to 100%. They are not. They maybe go down to 50% if I am being generous and depending on the switch. Some dimmers result in the light turning off if you set the switch too low. Some switches resulted in buzzing from the LED lights, but the buzzing is very soft. I would doubt most people would notice a few feet from the light. The nightlight is also dimmable and it does dim a bit more than the main light, but not to 3%. Switching between the nightlight and the regular light is done by flicking the wall switch and this feature works well. The light comes with the standard metal box where you make your connections. Opening the box to make your connections is easy enough. The light includes quick connects. The wires from the box are tinned and the wires are rigid enough to be able to push in and out of the quick connects unlike stranded copper. You can choose from several different light temperatures which works well. The switch is on the outside of the metal box so you will have to reach up into the ceiling to change the temperature, but this is normal an having the switch on the outside of the box is preferable. Overall, these are nice lights. I do wish they dimmed as much as claimed but they don’t so I am taking off stars for that. Pros: - easily switch between the light and the nightlight - five different color temperatures - come with quick connects and the light is easy to connect and to install, assuming your wiring is all ready to go on your end. - low profile Cons - not as dimmable as claimed and they can buzz with some dimming switches

> 3 dayIm finishing a bonus room and decided to go with recessed lights instead of traditional can lights. The lights have a quality feel and came packaged well. They connected easily and work as youd expect. Theyre very bright but adjusted down based on the dimmer switch Ive used. When you flip the switch they come one, then you turn them off and on again for the accent light. Very cool. Im impressed and dont plan on going back to traditional cans considering the ease and price point of a canless wafer light.

11-04-2025We were replacing an existing ceiling fan in our kitchen with can lights, so this was a retrofit. We hired an electrician to install and are really pleased with how these perform. The nightlight feature is really nice and casts a beautiful glow. Since its in our kitchen, we needed more light and so weve set it on neutral, and with 6 lights in a 14x20 space, its perfectly bright without being blinding. We love the clean look of can lights, really like the brightness options, and think the nightlight ring is warm and ambient. Highly recommended.

Greater than one weekThese are a great small light for any living space where you have/had canned lighting. They are easy to install, put out enough light, and work as expected. I would recommend.

> 3 dayBefore I go into my review, if you do not know what you are doing or not comfortable doing any kind of electrical work, seek out a licensed electrician to help you install these lights! With that said, I absolutely love these thin recessed LED’s. They are so simple to install, simply cut a hole and pop in the light/junction box and the spring clips hold the light tight against the sheet rock. They provide an incredible quality of light in the room, and they are bright! You don’t need a ton of them to evenly light a room. You can also change the color temperature of them to your liking from a more yellow to blueish hue. I prefer pure white. I think it’s the most complementing color temperature to a room since it doesn’t cast a colored hue on everything. The night light feature is awesome! It casts an orange glow from the edges of the lights across the ceiling. Really awesome effect for setting the mood. I would for sure recommend these lights. You can’t go wrong with recessed LED Trims especially with the night light feature!

> 3 dayNowadays everybody is getting away from can lighting and going with LED recessed lights. They are so easy to install and you can put them anywhere. Inside the box there is a template of how big to cut your hole. Just choose where you want the light, cut the hole, and slide your wires into the tabs of box up in the attic. You don’t even need any wire nuts. You can change the brightness of the lights with a flip of a switch and they look clean and sleek. You can’t go wrong with these!

> 3 dayInstalled a few in my kitchen. Installation of the actual lights was smooth and pretty easy. I really like the different modes the lights have. My favorite is the nightlight mode, not to bright and not to dim. Works great.

Greater than one weekThese lights are really cool. The different light temperatures are a nice effect. They are surprisingly easy to install and look nice. Ive had several other lights similar to these and they are usually more expensive with the same or less amount of quality. Very nice.
