So these smart plugs worked really great, and the response was quick as well. But then all of a sudden 3 out of 4 stopped working. The one working had not been connected previously. And the 3 that didn’t work anymore had been connected to devices. I had re-started, re-booted, erased them countless times from the home app and the Meross app itself but the same issue everytime. It would tell me either to restart the device before adding, or restart the device because it already belonged to another home. I called customer service and followed all the instructions they asked for, which was pretty much the same thing as rebooting the devices, they asked for things like sending them piks, videos of me restarting each device, and codes for each device as well. They responded fairly quickly but up until now they just stopped replying for no reason. It’s been almost a week and still no response. This really sucks because I’ve never had to write a bad review especially only because the customer service stopped replying for no reason so I feel like if they just didn’t want to deal with the issue anymore. I really liked the smart plugs and wish they could start working again because spending $40 on 3 out of 4 plugs feels wrong. But oh well i guess, still hoping that they will reply Update: i was told to be patient and that my replacements would be delivered in the 4th of February 2022. It’s now the 9th and i am very disappointed in how the customer service is handling this. Meross send me an email to contact another company i guess and still nothing. No update no email stating it would be late.

The title says it all. Worked awesome with HomeKit and did exactly what I needed it to

I have a new Orbi mesh router with strong Wi-Fi coverage but these plugs don’t stay connected. I have to unplug and plug them back at least once a week. A firmware update has fixes the issues.

I have no issues with Meross smart plugs. I recommend them 100% over WeMos if youre making a choice. Their customer service is also fantastic. The QR code rubbed off one of the outside switches and they were able to recover and send it to me to put it back on my network. Meross smart plugs all the way!

After about two weeks two of the outlets just stopped working. Completely offline. I tried to reset and re-install. One worked, the other didnt. Emailed the company. They did email me back and asked for additional information. I replied to their email, but it bounced back, numerous times. I then tried submitting a new claim through their web site with no response. Bad service and apparently not a very good product. Would not buy again. Update: The company did finally get back to me (from my re-submittal to their web site). To their credit, they did send me a replacement outlet. But since then, things have been bizarre. Support has emailed me several times, but every time I try to reply to the support email, it continues to bounce back. First they contacted me asking for me to send them the MAC address of the defective device. Since the MAC address isnt written on the device, the only want to know it is to view the information when connected to a network. Considering that my complaint was that the device fell offline and wouldnt connect to the network, there would be no way to do this. Honestly, it felt like a test to see if I was trying to scam them. Later they asked me to send the defective device back to them and they would reimburse me for shipping. I replied to their email and indicated Id be happy to send it back if they send me a pre-paid shipping label. Of course that email bounced back. There are several things wrong with this. First, Ive never heard of a company offering to reimburse for shipping. Reputable companies who want their product back pre-pay shipping. Secondly, since I apparently have no way to contact them, even if I trusted that Id be reimbursed (which I dont), I have no way to contact them with the reimbursement amount since their email doesnt appear to work. That happened a few weeks ago. This morning I received another email, asking me to send the device back and they would reimburse my Payal. I bought these throgh Amazon, not Paypal, so they dont have my PayPal info, nor is there any way to get it to them. To top things off, another outlet failed after lasting about an hour. It just randomly fell offline. Another thing Ive noticed is that with about half of the devices, if youre using an apple device (iPhone, iPad) to set it up, even if you selected the non Homekit option, you still have to use Homekit, even if you just want to control the device through the Meross app or one of the other supposedly supported apps (like Smarthings). Im not going to even bother trying to replace this new defective device. Its just not worth the hassle and the harassment from this really strange company.

I wanted to start making things easier/smarter throughout the house, so I started with the plugs. Let me just say that these are a game changer for us. We have 4 lamps down stairs in the living room that we had to turn on and off at the lamp under the shade which is a little tricky considering our set up right now with the kid’s toys. Now when it’s time for bed, we click one button on our phone whether upstairs or downstairs. For us, it saves us time, but is definitely very convenient. Work extremely well, good response time. There’s a button on the side of the plug you can use to manually turn the device on or off. That proves to be useful if you don’t have your phone. You can also connect it to google or Alexa which we haven’t done yet. I would imagine that would make things even easier if you gave a google or Alexa throughout the house. I have since bought the wall switches too which are fantastic also. Home automation is like an entirely different world to start exploring because there’s just so much you can do. I’m using Apple HomeKit and it works flawlessly. Easy set up and use.

I started buying Meross Smart MiniPlugs about a year ago, attracted by their price, and a little nervous about their quality. I have found the MiniPlugs to be solidly built, relatively easy to set up, and have had no reliability issues. I also bought a smart wall switch and wall dimmer switch from Meross. Same good experience with both of those. Although I believe you can add these devices to Home without installing the Meross app, you will not be able to get upgraded firmware for the devices without having a Meross app and account. This is not a big issue - the app is free, and doesnt trouble you with notifications or junk mail, etc. Apple Home will tell you that a device update is available. You simply use the app, click update and its done. I bought another 4 mini plugs during a cyber Monday deal saving about $2 on each device. Even without the discount, these smart plugs are an excellent value.

When all points are connected I find it very easy to use, connects with my Apple home App very well. Set up was also a breeze, and you get the choice of using the Meross App (recommended to at least have the app) or just skipping that and going with Apple Home app. I have been using these smart plugs for about 6 months and have experienced intermittent connectivity issues. They typically resolve when I either unplug/plug in or reconnect the device, however many of these outlets are in hard to reach places, so it is very cumbersome to have to reconnect them. One of the four plugs has already died on me sadly, so I will be testing out different smart plugs going forward.

These are very easy to set up once you understand the process. You run the Home app, add an accessory, and scan the Q-code with your phone. Next you immediately plug it into an open plug so that the device can be found via WiFi. I recommend doing this with an easily accessible plug *near* your WiFi router initially before taking it to its destination. Why? The set up can take longer with a plug farther away and sometimes it would not complete when further away. So I would have to bring it closer, and try again. Once the plug is added, you can easily take it further away without any operational issues (so long as you are in WiFi range of course).
