Greater than one weekFirst off I have to say that I was given these plugs as a promotional item for my honest opinion and review. This will be a pretty long review but it does have a somewhat happy ending. The Meross Mini Smart plugs do live up to their name and are small enough to easily fit 2 on a standard dual outlet wall plug. The Apple Home integration was a simple and very straightforward process. All 4 plugs show up and can easily be controlled in the Home app. With that being said, the integration into the Meross app, Alexa and SmartThings was extremely frustrating but I was eventually able to get the plugs fully functional in Apple Home, the Meross app, Alexa and SmartThings. I do not have or use Google Assistant so I cannot speak to that aspect of the integration process. I initially used the Meross app for the setup and by just following the prompts was easily able to integrate all 4 plugs into Apple Home. But, after that, I could not get them to show up in any other app including the Meross app itself. Eventually I stumbled upon a method of installation that worked for me and finally allowed full functionality in Apple Home, Meross, Alexa and SmartThings. With the Meross app already installed and after factory resetting the plugs I initially set them up using Apple Home directly by scanning the QR code for each plug. After getting them all set up in Apple Home, I opened the Meross app, tapped the “+” in the upper right to add devices and Meross found the 4 plugs. I was then able to add them to both Alexa and SmartThings. They all seem to be functioning just fine in all 4 apps except for the fact that the Meross app does not usually show the correct state of the plug when they are controlled by any of the other apps but all of the other apps show the correct state when a plug is controlled by the Meross app. If the Meross app is closed and then opened again it will show the correct state for the plug. So, at this point I would rate the physical plugs as a 5 but because of the software issues and having to jump through hoops to finally get things up and seemingly working as advertised I can only grudgingly give the Meross HomeKit version Mini Smart Plugs an overall 4 star rating but for the price and functionality in the many different apps i would highly recommend giving them a try.

> 3 dayThese are easy to set up. I especially like that I can access them through the app when I am away from home to turn lights on or off. I definitely recommend them.

> 3 dayDisappointed. It is advertised as works with HomeKit and Hub not needed, but those are inclusive. That is simply for turning it off and on. In order to program/automate through HomeKit a HomeKit Hub (Like AppleTV or HomePod) IS required. You used to also be able to use an iPad as a hub, but that is no longer supported by Apple either in the latest update (16.2). You can use the Meross app without a hub for automation, but that isnt HomeKit.

> 3 dayThe Meross App is okay. It works. Using this with Homekit is hit or miss. These outlets seem to become unavailable every so often. Homekit will just not detect them anymore for absolutely no reason. Then I remove and try to add them again, and it says, This has already been added. Really laggy. My Homepod Mini is in the next room, and wi-fi signal in here is strong. I hope others have had better luck - all three of mine behave this way. Id recommend looking elsewhere if youre a Homekit user..

> 3 dayThese are best of breed - but concerns about the source made me queasy - so deleted the app and use as mechanical switches via the activation buttons. True, it robs them of IP capability and iPhone switching but I feel better - and I’m including the Homekit versions - they’re “compatible” - but not made by . True, my iPhone’s always on the 5GHz network so I need to switch networks back to 2.4GHz to access this - which pretty much obviates its use - but except for my TV inside a cabinet, all my other switches are ‘walk up’ in plain sight and the soft touch switch aspect is a pleasure to use for turning on or restarting devices - which TV needs all too often. BTW, I’m a Meross fan due to their little wood cabinet clock - which makes a great gift.

10-06-2025Ive tried this switch and a competitors. This one was always easy to use with Homekit. Always responded showing its status and switching on request. The competitors usualy was not responding. Maybe the competitor may improve when they update the firmware, but by now I would recommend Meross to be sure it will work properly.

> 3 dayI wanted to start making things easier/smarter throughout the house, so I started with the plugs. Let me just say that these are a game changer for us. We have 4 lamps down stairs in the living room that we had to turn on and off at the lamp under the shade which is a little tricky considering our set up right now with the kid’s toys. Now when it’s time for bed, we click one button on our phone whether upstairs or downstairs. For us, it saves us time, but is definitely very convenient. Work extremely well, good response time. There’s a button on the side of the plug you can use to manually turn the device on or off. That proves to be useful if you don’t have your phone. You can also connect it to google or Alexa which we haven’t done yet. I would imagine that would make things even easier if you gave a google or Alexa throughout the house. I have since bought the wall switches too which are fantastic also. Home automation is like an entirely different world to start exploring because there’s just so much you can do. I’m using Apple HomeKit and it works flawlessly. Easy set up and use.

> 3 dayWith the first one, I had some problems with the setup. I then attempted to add a different one and had no problems, so I reinstalled the first one and it went smoothly. I installed all 4 plugs, and they are working great. The other important thing is that if you move from one to another outlet, all you have to do is rename it. I liked these so much I just purchased the outdoor plug and thinking about getting the switches. The interface is really nice since I installed using the Meross app and Alexa, Google and Apple apps were automatically updated too. I will always buy this brand to automate my house.

> 3 dayI purchased the smart outlets to replace my Wemo outlets. The Meross outlets respond instantly. Granted my Wemo are a few years old, but there was always a delay in response. I really like the Meross app. I use it for my Meross garage door controller, wall switches, and outlets. I especially like the widget, which allow for quick access. The Wemo app does not have a widget. The Meross app widget is still the older pre-IOs 14 style, but I like how it shows the on and off state of each device. This new model offers Apple HomeKit support, and I did create a toggle switch in the Shortcuts app for the outlets, but The Shortcut buttons don’t show the on or off state. But HomeKit does allow you to create automations, like having a light go on when you arrive home. You can create routines in the app for on or off at a time or based on sunrise or sunset times. My only complaint with the app is that you can’t create just 1 routine with an on and off time, you need to create a routine for the on time and another for the off time. In the Wemo app, you could do both in 1 routine. You can also group Meross devices in Scenes, so you can control several with 1 button. One issue I ran into was with Alexa. Since I was replacing an existing outlet with a new outlet, I changed the name of the old outlet and removed it from the group, then gave the new outlet the old name so my voice commands would be the same, and added it to the group. It didn’t work at first, Alexa said I had multiple devices named “light”. After I deleted the old device completely, and waited a day, it worked. My guess is that the Alexa database must take a while to fully delete old devices, so be careful if replacing a device and using the same names.
