Micro Swiss Direct Drive Extruder for Creality CR-10 / Ender 3 Printers

> 3 dayQuick install. Just change your esteps and replace gcode on slicer for start offsets. If your current extruder has the pressed in gear you will need a new motor with a flat on the shaft for the drive gear. I went with a pancake stepper to save weight. And decided to not use a Bowden tube.

> 3 dayFirst of all it was an involved install on the ender 3 v2. The good 1. Beautiful milled pieces of aluminum 2. great dual feed extruder and easy to adjust 3. No more clicking when adjusted (Z offset) 4 Best nozzle or at least it looks better with this setup 5 Given the standalone nozzle price this is cheap Install 1. Plenty of videos online plus good PDF online 2. Everything included 3. Fit perfectly 4. Had to adjust PDI (heater temp) which eas easy using the Jyers firmware in Git Hub which puts that option on the board and on the screen. 5. Had to adjust x and y offsets approx -12. Easy done with Jyers. 6 Z-offset adjust. The somewhat bad 1. Printed shrouds for the e3V2 are garbage (not a Micro Swiss issue. 2. Purchased a standard ender fan shroud which was much better smaller and easer to use the original BL Touch mount for the E3 Pro 3. I still have to work out the wiring as the motor on the top of the z axis is so close to the top extrusion. Putting the wires under the motor will touch the rollers. I think I might loose some height but not enough to bother me. All in all a great upgrade for any printer and given the quality it might just be the best deal.

> 3 dayNot only does this kit feel very cheap, (some of the included parts are 3D printed…) but it is not truly compatible with the new ended 3 pros. The current stepper motor has a press fit gear on it, so you will need to buy a new one or get the gear off. Also make sure the eccentric nut fits into the bracket. Mine was not cleared out and it caused collisions with the sides of the machine. Overall it felt very cheap. Felt like the company was saving money, but at least they have good customer service.

> 3 dayJust keep in mind that this does say it is for an Ender 3, but that does not mean it will fit your machine. Check your stepper motor and the installation instructions that they are the same. There are two types of extrudes, one that this upgrade requires where you can remove the gear, and one that the gear is press fit to the stepper. If you have the press fit gear you will also need to order a replacement stepper motor. Also, if you have the press fit gear the shaft length is to short for this mod

> 3 dayI was able to press my gear off with a drill press and some creativity with supports under the gear and a punch in the chuck, I also dremeled a flat spot on the shaft to accept the grub screw. Also does anyone know what the exact filament color/brand/and material of the red printed spacer supplied is? Thanks.

> 3 dayYou will need to fix your steps per mm and your retraction speed in your slicer program. I love the quality of the prints. Worth the money

Greater than one weekThis is just my experience and others may very bought February 15 by August 10 it was done for first started leaking from heat break down in between nozzle and threads then came out of top of heater block the entire time would not stay tight every print nozzle started moving or leaking tightened it up for the 9k time and came loose again but set screw stripped when backing out this has been a journey and I wanted to like it but definitely temporary. Maybe I got a bad one but I cant see buying another. Also all my prints had metal flakes in them from the coating came off during print
