> 3 dayI tried other hotends and setups prior to this unit to keep the upgrades cheap. I spent more in the end taking that route though I learned a lot. This kit is the best though for out of the box upgrade and print improvement. Dont forget to adjust your steps though.

09-06-2025My prints were mostly coming out fine, as long as I was using PLA. But once I started using PETG, I started having issues, mostly just prints not completing. After this upgrade, I can start a PETG print and just walk away. Adhesion is perfect, and the rest of the print finishes flawlessly. Make sure to adjust your refraction settings to 1.5mm as the instructions say, and you should have no issues.

Greater than one weekretracting hot filament causes the filament to cool in the throat which immediately clogs it. some people online suggest seasoning it like a cast iron skillet, but I have seen no instructions from microswiss on doing this. If there is a solution microswiss, please let me know, I would love to find out that this is user error so I can change this review, I want, so badly, to love this product, but currently, it is absolutely unusable.

> 3 dayAs Micro-Swiss is based in the USA, this is a high quality product. I have used other direct drives, and they do not match this one. I found an issue, after an X amount of prints with PLA... running 200/60, I have had a few failed prints, due to the grub screw coming loose after a while, causing a heat block... and the print fails. I have reached out to Micro-Swiss for a solution today... (I dont expect to hear back until after Thanksgiving) to see what type of revision/solution they offer. I would STILL recommend this direct drive, and hot end, over any other! (Just keep an eye on that grub screw.) **** UPDATE **** Changed from a 4, to 5 star due to the fact when I contacted Swiss, and explained the problem, they corrected it by providing the replacement part. The hot end is still running strong, and I am still a true supporter of them.

> 3 dayI was able to press my gear off with a drill press and some creativity with supports under the gear and a punch in the chuck, I also dremeled a flat spot on the shaft to accept the grub screw. Also does anyone know what the exact filament color/brand/and material of the red printed spacer supplied is? Thanks.

> 3 dayI had set aside purchasing this for awhile and always had the thought the of wanting to print flexible filaments in the back of my mind as well. I decided to finally pull the trigger and purchase this kit, absolutely love it. Took some time to get everything dialed in but once figure out, it works great and flexibles are a breeze. I installed it on my Voxelab Aquila which is a Ender 3 V2 clone and fits for the most part. End stop is more enclosed than the Ender 3 requiring a new end stop cover and the fan shroud for the hot end is mounted differently on the Aquila requiring me to use the stock end 3 shroud for the time being. But this definitely worth every penny!

> 3 dayYou will need to fix your steps per mm and your retraction speed in your slicer program. I love the quality of the prints. Worth the money
