Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 – 13.5 Touch-Screen – Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory – 1TB Solid State Drive – Matte Black

Ive used Microsoft computers for many years, and bought my first Surface Laptop in 2017 and absolutely loved it. It was used daily for work (from home) and while I took great care of it, I put it through a lot of use and it held up wonderfully. By mid 2020, it had started randomly turning off and freezing up so often that it was a problem, so I decided to buy a newer Surface Laptop and retire the old one.

This is the best laptop I’ve ever owned.

My wife was in the market for a new laptop for school. This seemed like the best option and indeed it has been amazing. It is super fast to boot, the windows face recognition works great and it is not filled with bloatware. It is not built for games, but it is an amazing laptop for productivity and the specs with an i7, 16gb of memory and the option to change the NvMe storage it will last us for years to come!

Beware of the Magnetic connection power cord connection. It failed within a couple of months. Customer service was very slow to resolve my problem, I had to purchase a cord to use for the 3 months of waiting for their replacement. Incidentally the purchased power cord magnetic connections also failed. Now, several months later, my computer just went out of the one year warranty by 11days and it is on the way to my company IT people because it appears the touchscreen has failed. My first and last Microsoft laptop purchase.

Laptop returned, it did not work properly. It kept turning on and off. I reordered another one.

Ive owned the Surface Pro 1 and Surface Pro 3. I saw Microsoft was coming out with more laptop-esque machines but always thought Id stick with the Pro line forever. However one gripe I had about the Pro series was screen tilt, especially when trying to video chat. Unlike traditional laptops, you cant tilt the screen forward, which makes for awkward angles when video chatting or watching movies, etc. I decided to go with Surface Laptop and I wont be going back! I love this computer. Screen size is awesome and display is clear. Touch is sensitive and responsive. Keyboard is comfortable. And the machine it self is gorgeous. Just buy it!

It was all good.

Gets 2 to 3 hours of battery life and is already hanging up when switching apps (specifically MW teams and PowerPoint) after a month old. Cannot play civilization 6 without getting so hot you can’t hold the laptop for long. Ridiculous charger configuration that falls out easily.

I probably would not buy this again, for a few different reasons.
