We liked the lamp. It just stopped working - the first one about 9 months after we received it; the second one 6 months after we received. Its solid state LED so its a short - maybe a mfg design defect? Bummer - certainly wont buy a third.

I think this is an excellent Birdcage light I dont have very much light in the bedroom at night or during the day for my own convenience so having the light on in the Birdcage is good for the bird and good for me. I did not attach it in the cage I set it on top of the cage. The cage has a pull out drip pan on the top I pulled that out turned it upside down and put it back in so that reflects the light back into the cage. the one that I got seems to be well constructed it has an excellent chew guard on the cord I recommend this light thank you for your support

I so wish I could do 5 stars for this product! The brackets for mounting it didnt fit on the light itself and certainly didnt fit when I attempted to mount it on the cage. I had to use the metal zip ties included which, I only received one long one so I couldnt even mount it properly that way. The front end is secured with the longer zip tie and then I secured the back end by using the shorter zip ties included to secure the cord tight enough it holds the lamp up. Would love it if it they had proper brackets for it to mount, Im just lucky I have a smaller conure who cant bite through the metal zip ties or cause problems to it like some might.

Provides the broad spectrum lighting needed for a healthy bird. Easy to mount. Have it set up on a timer for 12 hrs.of lighting.

I bought 3 of these, 2 / 18” and a 24” with chew guard. As others said the U shape brackets could be a little longer, but I got them to work after bending the metal strap that mounts to the U brackets, took a while. I have A&E, HQ and California cages, fitted all 3 with brackets. All 3 birds seem to like it. Sun Conure and B/G Macaw colors got more bright and vivid, and calmer. The Amazon likes it, he is calmer too. I have the lights on a timer for 6 hours, 2 PM to 8 PM. 2 PM is chop time. All 3 lights are mounted on top and outside the cage.

The product arrived exactly as described. I installed mine on top of my African Gray’s cage. A little expensive but works fine. I am happy with it and my bird hasn’t complained about it either.

My partner and I have a number of pets including sugar gliders, whose cage we put in a finished room in our basement to keep them out of reach of our cats. The only problem with that is that the basement doesnt get much natural light, and for creatures from sunny Australia, thats not too natural for them. After much research, we selected this light as it best mimics the spectrum of natural sunlight and is large enough to illuminate their VERY large cage. THE GOOD: This light is really well protected from paws, claws, and teeth, as is the metal-clad cord. It feels incredibly sturdy and well built. The light it emits is bright and radiant, and when put on a timed outlet, provides adequate natural illumination to mimic the daily sun cycle. THE BAD: The included brackets do NOT fit the light whatsoever. Basically, you get a long bar light with 2 wide U-brackets, shaped like this: |___| . You put the light bar down in the seat of the bracket and then affix another bar over the top, with holes for the legs of the bracket and wing nuts that affix them. Heres the problem with that: the brackets I received were not tall enough to affix the bar over the top and still screw on the wing nuts, no matter how hard we tried. We tried multiple positions on the light bar, bracket right side up and upside down, etc. No dice. So if we could not do it just with the light bar, you can imagine that there was no chance the brackets would accommodate both the light bar and the cage bars to affix it. We ended up having to use just the metal zip-ties they intend for you to use for cable management to affix the light bar, as my partner, my dad, and I were all 3 unable to make the bracket work. All in all, the light is great, but be prepared to need additional equipment to mount it if you have stronger pets (such as birds) who might be able to pull it out of the metal zip ties. Perhaps I was just sent the wrong size bracket meant for a smaller light, who knows. It worked out in the end but did NOT have the sound attachment to the cage I had hoped for due to incorrectly sized mounting accessories.
