> 3 dayIve had this gigabit switch for a month or so now, but Ive also had another one just like it for over a year. It works. Not much to say about it really except it hasnt died yet and devices connect at either 100Mbps or 1Gbps (depending on the devices NIC). Nothing to setup, just plug it in.

Greater than one weekAs an IT professional, i needed a Gig-E switch for home. Ok, so i really did NOT need the Gig-E speed but really wanted it. No fuss, no muss, no problem. Plug and play.

> 3 dayIve had mine for a couple of years now but it mostly just sits on a shelf collecting dust. When I use it occasionally, it works as intended but the fan noise makes it unacceptable in my environment. I have another Netgear switch good for a gig but with only 8 ports. It is my chief workhorse because it runs well without a fan.

> 3 dayI like the Netgear products but Im giving the switch a one star rating because of what I believe is a deceptive lifetime warranty. Netgear requires the original sales receipt to honor their warranty. I bought this switch to replace one exactly like it that stopped working after two years but the lifetime warranty is useless without the receipt. The product itself works quite well.

Greater than one weekLike the prior reviewer said, if its buried in a closet or setup in a loud rack of computers fine. But if you have it in the room with you all day, the cooling fan they uses is unethically loud. Ive got a Core I7 computer with a honking graphics card and its more quiet than this simple unmanaged switch. Its literally driving me nuts and Ill be returning it for a product that isnt as loud. Functionally it seems ok. THe physical mounting options are primarily for a rack or laying on a table. No wall mount without Jury Rigging it.

> 3 dayVery good upgrade for my clients office network. Just plugged it in, transferred the Cat6 cables and everything lit up. Speed immediately picked up and my client pcs stopped having network time-outs that they were experiencing with the old switch. Fan is not noisy at all like some of the other reviews have said. Its quieter than the server its next to.
