Purchased this run a lot of audio/video over our home network and it runs great. No issues at all. Feels like a commercial switch

I bought this unit thinking it would be just right for the house. After installation, I find I needed more ports so, I bought the 24-port version which I havent taken time to install yet; maybe this weekend. I will definately put this 16-port on a shelf for standby, or second thought daisy-chain the two together. Anyway, the unit is working fine for me and it was delivered within good time.

Turn off the old hub. Plug in the new hub. Turn on the power. DONE! If this is what you are looking for this is your choice. Do not buy the other model 16 port hub that NetGear sells. It wont last.

I purchased this switch for a new home network. It is very easy to use, which is good since very little documentation is included. Unpack, plug-in to power and plug in a DHCP router and ones network cables and it is up and running. I have not yet configured the switch internally as there are only Mac and Linux computers here in the house and the included software is Windows only - that accounts for the 4, rather than 5, star review. Network throughput is excellent. As others have noted, the fan is loud. As my switch is located in a Network Operations Center in a garage closet, noise is not a problem. I would not recommend this switch for living or working space, however.

As another reviewer said, its a boring product, but hey, it works. Weve had one in place for 3 years and its never caused a problem. Id call it a solid product.

I bought one of these several years ago and while it has worked flawlessly the noisy fan has always bothered me. I need another one and debated on whether to get another JGS516 or go with the GS116 that doesnt have a fan. In the end I decided to stick with what works and ordered another JGS516. It arrived today and I was pleasantly surprised to find this model NO LONGER HAS A FAN! In fact it looks like the guts are completely different. Only time will tell if it works as well as the previous version but for now I am enjoying the silence.

I installed this unit on a job and have been very happy with the function. I did not have my line tester with me so tested with my laptop just to see if I could connect. Later when I retested I found three lines that were crossed or otherwise incorrect but the switch fixed the errors and all were working anyway. One slight problem is that the fan is a bit loud. I installed the unit in an office space and the sound is noticable. It does not seem to bother the workers so I left the unit as mounted.

The product is a good product. I do not have any issues with it functions. It preforms as advertised. My only issue is that the port indicator lights are on the face of the unit adjacent to the inputs. Id prefer the input on the rear and the indicator light on the front of the unit.
