NETGEAR 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Switch (GS308) - Home Network Hub, Office Ethernet Splitter, Plug-and-Play, Silent Operation, Desktop or Wall Mount

Received a Netgear 8port switch the next day in a sealed consumer package. This switch was bought to replace the switch part of two wifi routers. I was experiencing bottlenecks and couldn’t figure out why. Removed one router and moved all network connections to switch. Bottleneck gone. Can run multiple streams and get my email off my phone when I couldn’t before. Wireless router aren’t good at managing switches. Only problem is must register account with Netgear to get warrantee. This s illegal in Ontario Canada. Company should revise their documentation.

Switches bits just fine, and uses less power than the old model. I ended up buying two.

I added this to my entertainment center since I have so many devices that want an network connection. I like to give them a wired connection when possible because I like the speed better then WiFi. This switch fit right in and is working like it should. So far I have had no issues. It is working fine so I have not had to contact customer support. I see a lot of negative reviews saying it failed, but that has not happened to me.

After 3 months of use this switch has served me well. No complaints. I use it on my home theater and it is downstream from another Netgear switch. My Xbox tests at internet speeds up to 700mbps on 1000 Mbps Internet service.

Worked as I expected

Excellent quality managed L2 switch! The built-in vLAN capability is very useful if you don’t have that setup at the gateway layer. Having used several other brands of managed switches, I feel this Netgear switch has the same (if not more) features as others and costs much less.

Simple 8 port switch for home ethernet. Works as advertised.
