If you have your own home WIFI router, they never have enough ports, 4 max. This is the way to add more ports for multiple wired computers, VOIP phones, laptops, Multimedia. I added mine for 2 VOIP phones and a bridge. Go with an 8 port or 16. You will always find that at some point you will need to expand. For $21, I cant complain. This is a wired eitherswitch, has nothing to do with WIFI so that could not be rated. Real simple to install, Tech support, not needed. You may need a Cat 5E or Cat 6 Ethernet jumper cable as this is a Gigabit Etherswitch. 3 to 5 foot may be fine but more if it is a long run.

Plugging in to my AT&T Uverse modem/router. Worked perfectly. I was able to use it to connect my Uverse TV boxes, Roku, TV, and additional Eero wifi router. All worked perfectly and the speed matched the speed package I was receiving from AT&T Uverse 100 download/20 upload.

Right from the start, it could not be easier! If you are looking for an economical 16-Port GB switch the GS116 is an excellent choice. Simply plug it in and it works! I have installed the switch down stream from my 4-port cable router. The auto-sensing port configuration works as advertised. No problems intermixing 10,100,1000 devices. Further, the automatic uplink to the router was completely seamless without the need for a turn-over cable.

Works great, mounts easily on the wall. Very happy. Had it several months now, no issues.

I ordered this switch for a future project. Netgear products have always worked well for me in the past. This switch will be ready to use when I get around to it.
