I bought this device to replace an older switch that stopped working but had problems right after unboxing the new switch. I have an older version of the same switch purchased 18 months ago and it works fine. After two hours on the phone with tech support, they recommended changing some port settings with their proprietary SmartPhone app. However, after making the changes, the switch locked up and the app was unable to read the device. I tried doing multiple hard resets on the switch, but it didn’t work. Tech support was useless and hung up on me after the device locked up. It was frustrating!

Great switch for my home network. Have it running from my Google wifi. Great wired speeds.

This is a simple gigabit switch in a compact package. Same form factor as the 10/100 switch 5 port switch (also NetGear) I replaced. Got a NetGear NightHawk router too! Really enjoying the speed/bandwidth boost!

Nicely built (took apart to examine), metal chassis. A better choice for sound-quality (streaming) use.
