Buy this lens. The quality for the price is unmatched. Awesome prime lens. F/1.8 is awesome for low light and getting that razor thin depth of field. I really like the bokeh, especially for the sub two hundred dollar price tag. Build quality is superb for the price. Remember, this is for a DX sensor only and will look comparable to a 55 mm on an FX sensor.

I love this lens. Its my first prime lens and Im really happy with it. The depth of field is absolutely wonderful and the silky smooth bokeh that can be achieved is extremely pleasing. This is my favourite lens. Not too easy to take portraits completely in focus, especially with more than one person (or even both eyes!) but I believe thats a skill I can learn! As always, Nikon deliver great quality.

Awesome quality. Perfect for low light condition and low noise high quality videos. Used them for rock band videos and they look very professional. Perfect prime lense equivalent for DX cameras.

Good lens, nice bokeh. Lot of noise in continuous focus mode in love preview. Normal autofocus on shutter button press doesnt make sense much noise.

Great lens for sharp images! Use as a daily lens and for portraits, especially small groups. Great value for the price

Da ich ziemlich viel unterwegs bin und meine anderen Zoom-Objektive ein ziemliches Gewicht haben, legte ich mir jetzt noch dieses Fest-Objektiv zu. Da muss ich zwar zum Teil etwas näher an meine Motive ran gehen, aber man kann schnell gute Schnappschüsse damit machen, die auch nicht so schnell verwackelt sind, wie das schnell mal bei schwereren Objektiven passieren kann (zumindest Hobby-Fotografen wie mir). Es eignet sich gut für Porträt-Aufnahmen, aber auch für die Landschaftsfotografie. Der Autofocus ist schnell und leise. Automatische und manuelle Einstellungen sind möglich, wobei sich bei der manuellen Einstellung meiner Meinung nach schönere Bildeffekte erstellen lassen, während natürlich für schnelle Schnappschüsse die Automatic eher eignet.

Best lens I’ve used. Sold my old 50mm to buy this one, for me, I can do so much more with it. I’ve been using it for years. I’m by no means a pro, just an enthusiast. I took this photo with my Nikon D80&35mm lens using natural light and a reflector.

Great lens for the money, fantastic quality, sharp and clear with nice bokeh, wide aperture so good in low light conditions. Only hesitation in buying should be whether you want this or the 50mm version. Note that on a Nikon DX format crop sensor 35mm is equivalent to 52.5mm

GOOD LENS! Im stuck on Nikon DX so I had the 50mm/1.8 on a D70. Now I use this lens much more: its just as compact to carry around town, with superb optical quality.
