I was very confused between buying a new tv vs buying a projector. Buying this projector was definitely a better choice. There is some additional work you will need to put in if you want the best out of it. 1. Buy good speakers to pair with projector. The effect of a good projector increases manifold with some good speakers. I have Samsung 2.1 sound bar system. You can either connect using aux jack ( very few projectors have this port ) or you can connect through Bluetooth. 2. Have a good screen to project on. I painted my own screen following a YouTube video. Took me 2 hours of DIY work. Totally worth it. Great colors and particularly the blacks. It is also very bright and gives good picture with medium ambient light.

Just understand what I did not. Short throw means you cant put your projector far away. That being said the picture is amazing, great for gaming, bright and clear. We all love it. No need for movie theaters anymore.

    Greater than one week

I cant not figure out why some options of the projector are disabled for me as Im trying to try all modes and options to have this projector run for my golf simulator and I dont have the option to turn on enhanced game mode so with not being to try and see all options of the projector I cant justify more than 2

I bought an open-box (Like-New) projector, but they sent a very old version of it and it is not working too.

Arrived not working, Constant flickering on power up. Continuous flickering with nothing attached to HDMI. Horrible support from Optoma manufacturer and Amazon Services. Terrible service on both ends. Stay away.

This projector worked perfectly for my needs. Unfortunately, a little over 1 year after purchase with a few hours of use per day, a loud pop, immediate shutoff, and cannot get the unit to power up at all.

Great for gaming. Bright vibrant picture. Great response time for anything but the hardest core gamer. The only issue is awful black levels. Any dark movies or games are lackluster.

For the price this a great projector that supports 4K @ 60Hz. There is a color wave that runs across the screen but you have to really look for it. Overall the projector is definitely one to invest in because for the price it has really good specifications versus the higher priced projectors. Projector is very bright in a well lit room, and performs well with gaming!

I had high hopes for this projector after all the reviews but ended up having to send it back due to poor colors leading the picture looking washed out. The Good: Low input lag for gaming Short throw is nice Has good brightness The Bad: -Colors are poor, washed out. Even after using calibration disk and doing lengthy calibration, I could not get the colors to look good. This was the deal breaker for me. It has a lot of calibration options but did not help me achieve good color saturation. - It looked worse playing Xbox One X games. The colors were so washed out that I would never want to play a video game on this projector. - no zoom on the lens. You have to position this projector perfectly to get the right size on the screen. - Only 2 of the 3 posts on the projector are adjustable, the front and back right post. this means if you need to tilt the image to the right, you cannot do it as the back left post is not adjustable. Poor design. In the end I sent it back and got the Benq HT2150ST which is the same price. What a difference! The colors on this projector are vibrant, with proper saturation out of the box. I am intending to still calibrate it but it looks great out of the box. Low input lag for video games and they look great. It has a zoom on the lens to help with getting the picture to easier fit the screen, came with a bag, better post adjustment also for positioning the projection. The throw is not as short as the GT1080HDR but still is a short throw. The shorter throw on the GT1080HDR is nice. I know some say the GT1080HDR can look great with a lot of calibration but to be honest, one should not need to be professionally trained to get the picture to look decent on the projector. It should look good out of the box and be to be improved with calibration. Not look poor out of the box and need a complex calibration to make it suitable. Hope this helps.
