> 3 dayI had high hopes for this projector after all the reviews but ended up having to send it back due to poor colors leading the picture looking washed out. The Good: Low input lag for gaming Short throw is nice Has good brightness The Bad: -Colors are poor, washed out. Even after using calibration disk and doing lengthy calibration, I could not get the colors to look good. This was the deal breaker for me. It has a lot of calibration options but did not help me achieve good color saturation. - It looked worse playing Xbox One X games. The colors were so washed out that I would never want to play a video game on this projector. - no zoom on the lens. You have to position this projector perfectly to get the right size on the screen. - Only 2 of the 3 posts on the projector are adjustable, the front and back right post. this means if you need to tilt the image to the right, you cannot do it as the back left post is not adjustable. Poor design. In the end I sent it back and got the Benq HT2150ST which is the same price. What a difference! The colors on this projector are vibrant, with proper saturation out of the box. I am intending to still calibrate it but it looks great out of the box. Low input lag for video games and they look great. It has a zoom on the lens to help with getting the picture to easier fit the screen, came with a bag, better post adjustment also for positioning the projection. The throw is not as short as the GT1080HDR but still is a short throw. The shorter throw on the GT1080HDR is nice. I know some say the GT1080HDR can look great with a lot of calibration but to be honest, one should not need to be professionally trained to get the picture to look decent on the projector. It should look good out of the box and be to be improved with calibration. Not look poor out of the box and need a complex calibration to make it suitable. Hope this helps.

> 3 dayCouldve been great. The best thing about this projector is the short throw. Without paying over $1500, it can be beat with the connectivity that it has. What sucks the most is that it is not 4K. The 4K HDR support it speaks of is the ability to downscale. In addition, this does not support eARC nor does it have an optical port. If these things arent important to you this projector is perfect.

> 3 dayI had 4 projector that i thought where good projectors. boy was I wrong. First was a 800i projector. Then 3 1080P projectors including the YABER Y21 (the last toy projector). I thought the Yaber was every good but could not have any lights on. And the Yaber say the Y21 has 9000 Lumens and 8000: 1 contrast ratio. Neither of these statements are true. But this Optoma GT1080HDR is so much better. I can have the lights on and still looks damn good. and turn out the lights makes the image look like a TV. If your budget can swing a good projector I say leave the toy projectors alone and get a real projector.

> 3 dayWe ordered this projector in January. It was great for our home theater. Once, back in February we had it stop working and two red lights flashing. Called the company they walked us through a quick fix. Unfortunately, this past week it stopped working again and the two red lights are back. We called the company, quick fix did not work! Now we are stuck and it doesnt look like the warranty covers it. Bummed because we really loved this projector and it was pricey.

> 3 dayLove the picture quality. Unfortunately I need to use audio out for surround sound. It crackles and sounds terrible. I think the sound card is malfunctioning. Lots of money for this to happen so soon.

> 3 dayI originally bought this projector back in 2017. Over 4 years I had to replace the bulb for this projector every 6 to 12 months. So I had to pay for 5 bulbs. In May 2021 the color wheel failed. I tried to replace it myself but soon gave up. After giving up on the older projector I decided to buy the same projector, because I was happy with the quality of the picture. Unfortunately, this November 2021 the bulb once again burnt out. The good news is that I bought a warranty this time around and was able to utilize the warranty. The Optoma warranty for the bulb only lasts 90 days. With the other warranty I am in the process of shipping the projector to them so they can replace the bulb. The bad news is that I have to take the projector down from the ceiling, ship it, wait up to 10 days for it to be fixed and then put it back up on the ceiling. The hassle of having a projector is becoming too much I will not every buy a projector again. The TV might be smaller and a little more expensive but the hassle of a projector is not worth it.
