> 3 dayI put it in my garage for my mancave...and i must say its perfect, if you have a open white wall, dont get a screen, it will be a waste of money. It shows up that good in a medium dark area. Im about 5 ft away and its shooting about 140 inches.

> 3 dayWell first off theres no manual at all. Theres a sheet that shows you how to plug it in. As to set up youre on your own. Well I checked Youtube videos and they were beyond worthless. They all assume its already working. Apparently it came out of the factory so badly out of adjustment it looks defective. I finally got hold of tech support after a nightmare on their web site. They actually include too many numbers in their phone number. Well Ive been dealing with tech support for 50 years and this guy was by far the most condescending I ever dealt with. A screaming jerk who seemed to be on some power trip. If you asked him a question hed refuse to answer, you were supposed to do as youre told and keep your mouth shut. I finally hung up on the jerk. Id send it back but I think it just needs to have the adjustments sorted so Im waiting on a friend to check it out. Personally I wouldn;t take one if you gave it to me after that phone call!!!!!

> 3 dayThis is a major upgrade for me. I had another older optoma that still works great but I wanted to upgrade to 1080p and this short throw is the way to go. I highly recommend this projector.

> 3 dayEntire disappointing nightmare from Optoma AND Amazon here -- bought this from Amazon and was excited by the brightness and short throw capabilities of this projector, but out of the box the unit would freeze and shut down if i tried to change inputs and only start up with input correctly connected 1/10 times (requiring an unplug and re-plug to solve) I contacted Amazon to return the defective unit and they told me it was past the return window (?) but that they would connect me with Optoma. Amazon associate set up a 3 way call with Optoma support, who was incredibly rude but finally and condescendingly told me to submit an RMA to return the unit to Optoma for repair. I submitted an RMA and shipped the unit up -- weeks later I got an incredibly rude email from Optoma insisting that nothing was wrong with the unit and that they would be shipping it back. I insisted that there was a real issue that required repair and they refused and told me theyd ship my unit back. Over a month has gone by and my unit has not been returned and countless emails and calls to Optoma have gone un-acknowledged. I called Amazon yesterday and encountered an awful employee that told me first, that the unit could have been returned to Amazon initially after all, that the original support contact Id made at Amazon kept no notes of our interaction, so theres no proof of this existing -- and that theres no way for me to get a refund because theres no paper trail of the situation. So now Im out $850+ with no projector and no response from Optoma or Amazon -- big fail across the board

> 3 dayThis is by far the worst projector I have ever owned. The HDMI source continuously searches and the screen turns blue during both movies and when the kids play games in HDMI 2 (lesser quality). Forget about HDMI 1 which is 4k you cant go 5 seconds without it scanning for a source. Complete waste of money and time.

> 3 dayI currently own an epson 2150 projector and I think image quality and brightness is much better 2150 I also wanted to test out the Short throw which for my room set up didn’t work had to place the projector in the middle of the room on a table which took up quite a bit of room I was better off the my current set up Ceiling mount

> 3 dayDont buy this projector. Only has digital zoom. No user manual. Only a quick setup insert with TINY, TINY print. Optoma does not have manuals online for this projector. The manuals they have are for similar models. The Optoma website is impossible to navigate. Setup is finicky and cumbersome. Supposed to be 4200 lumens. Picture washes out in very low room lighting. Annoying bleed over of light around picture. Vertical sides of picture are not straight. Keystone is very hard to get right. Very frustrating customer experience. Recommend buy a different brand because their documentation is so bad. Lesson: Always download and read manual before buying.

> 3 dayI currently have an older Epson Projector and this Optima isnt 1/2 as bright as my old Epson. Make sure you read and view all the you tube videos before buying this model. I feel that there are less exspensive and better viewing options on some other projectors. I wanted this to be my new toy, but after 2 minutes of hooking it up and adjusting all the settings I was so disappointed, it was NOT giving the picture as advertised ! I believe that Optima boost about it having 3,800 Lumens is not accurate at all. Now , maybe using this for a gaming projector its much better, but Im not a gamer. All I can say is do your research before buying this or any projector. Thanks everyone, be safe!
