Osprey Savu Lumbar Hydration Pack (2020 Model)

In general, I love Osprey products. However, I am disappointed by this pack. I used it today for the first time. One water bottle fell out of the bottom several times because the bottom of the water bottle pouches is not solid material, but two straps. The pack is comfortable but I am considering returning. I used it for hiking, not biking.

I don’t feel as hot compared to a back pack style hydration. If you have a big gut, this might be uncomfortable. I’m able to bring everything I need for a ride and bottles stay secured on my trail rides.

I was unsure if I wanted this at first, but now I will never go back to a backpack. It’s the perfect size, not too large or too small. After 15 mins, I didn’t even notice it was on. And the water bottles do stay in.

I got this to take on hikes with my dog. I have an osprey backpack but in the summer i dont need to carry much but never have pockets in my pants so I needed something. This has been perfect and had enough room to carry my phone, keys, sunglasses, a snack, dog poop bags, and two water bottles. Thats my minimum. Ive also taken it camping to be able to keep things on me and I can fit my 9mm springfield subcompact, my phone, keys, a small knife, bug spray.... You can really pack this thing if needed! I love it and its so comfy. My favorite part is the buckle. Its large and super easy to operate which is important for me.

Helps when bringing extra water in summer, holds necessary repair parts, side pockets good for bars and my point and shoot. Drink pockets secure down when not in use. Lumbar support is great and it cinches down easily to stop waist pack bounce on descents

I’ve been using my standard nalgene more often than smart water bottles despite the weight savings. I wanted a lumbar pack for hot Florida summer hiking and this seemed to fit the bill. Only reason it’s not 5 stars is because I anticipated more storage room but that’s not a deal breaker and honestly is more on me than the product. Still really comfortable and the quality that you expect from osprey

Great pack but my bottles fall off sometimes on tech trails on my bike. Still like the pack.

when fully loaded with additional two bottles of 750mL, the Savu become a little bit uncomfortable. a reduction of the water capacity to two bottles of 600mL yield almost the best setup.
