Originally purchased for a trip to Boundary Waters. I packed it SUPER full and the zippers were up for the challenge. The top carry handle is great for not dumping out your water or other items when handling the bag. It also stands up because of the semi-rigid back. Speaking of which, the back panel is supremely comfortable. Ive worn it in front and back, walking and mountain biking. The nailed the fit. Just the right amount of padding while not getting too hot. Some complain about the water bottle holders, but I love that they snap and fold away when not being used. I sometimes carry only one water bottle so this is really handy. Shorter water bottles (think standard bike bottles) work best. I have fit a taller 27.5 oz. bottle, but it doesnt feel secure when riding. Also 32oz. Hydroflasks = no go. There are a number of straps to keep everything tight and I used these to attach multi-tools, bug nets, sanitizer etc. My one complaint is that the small top zipper compartment, looks to be for a phone or sunglasses, fills the main zippered compartment. Ive noticed that only flat objects can fit in that pocket if the main compartment is full. Overall, this is the best non-bladder Osprey fanny pack. Save $30 and buy your own water bottles, you wont be disappointed.

This fannie pack is great for short hikes; water, snack, essentials.

Alright, so this pack was designed for cycling, but I’ll be honest with you, I don’t cycle much these days. Instead, I take this pack on hikes! I found it to be perfect for 2-6 hour hikes. It carries two water bottles and has plenty of storage space for keys, wallet, phone/camera, and snacks. I prefer this pack for short hikes over traditional backpacks because it allows air to reach my back and makes it that much easier to regulate my body tempearature. Thanks Osprey! I’m sure its great for cycling too.

I was unsure if I wanted this at first, but now I will never go back to a backpack. It’s the perfect size, not too large or too small. After 15 mins, I didn’t even notice it was on. And the water bottles do stay in.

This is a GREAT bag. Perfect size. I can fit my wallet, sunglasses, keys, and makeup (as well as some extra snacks and treats for my dog. All the pockets are easily accessible and the zippers never accidentally come open. It definitely can be worn in many different ways. I’ll even sling it over my shoulder and wear it like a crossbody bag if I’m bendin a lot and don’t want it around my waist. But when I do wear it around my waist, I’ll even attach my dogs leash to it and it’s just an awesome hands free option. I’m using this as my everyday bag.

I love this pack. It’s perfect for short rides or rides that I don’t need to carry a lot of water and gear. Fits nice and is easy to cinch tight. The collapsable bottle holders work well.

My husband loves this pack. He goes riding in the mountain trails and says this pack is great!

Great pack for the price. Large capacity. Easy to access storage pockets.

Pack really doesn’t have much room compared to others I have had. The two side compartments are nice but also quite small. Secondly, full water bottles can slide past the singe supporting strap underneath. Looks as though what might help is a cross strap. The placement of the single strap seemed too far to one side and too narrow for the job. I understand there are some flimsy sort of elastic straps to hold the bottles from the top, but they won’t last long. I understand that every fanny pack is a design compromise. We want something that will carry even two full water bottles without them flopping around. Then there is the desire for room to carry phone, keys, wallet, snacks and a few other things. Anyway I have read some of the other reviews and am wondering if we are talking about the same pack. I did get the Mountainsmith Tour 9L lumbar pack. It held up well on a five hour hike. It carried a lot of stuff including two full water bottles. No they did not flop around. Yes it is a big and maybe even kind of ugly pack. I gave it away to someone else who loves it. It am giving up on fanny packs and sticking with my Osprey Dalite pack since it carries so much more than any fanny back and does it better. Everyone is different I suppose.

It’s finally here—the perfect pack for the mountain biking minimalist. Ideal for quick laps on local singletrack or gravel trails, the Savu lumbar pack has two rigid pockets that make it easy to pull and replace water bottles as you pedal, so you can stay hydrated without stopping. Angled hipbelt and compression straps keep the pack close to your body and provide maximum stability over every type of trail. No creep-around here. Not a two water bottle kind of ride? No problem. Each water bottle sleeve can tuck away when not needed to provide a streamlined pack. Any way you customize it, the main compartment and side hipbelt pockets will fit vital flat-fixing tools, a tube, snacks, and other small mountain biking essentials.
