This is more like a hiking expedition fanny pack. It is humongous. It has lots of storage space for hydration as well as snacks, first aid gear, and other knick nacks.

Use this for downhill skiing to carry ID, snacks, and water. Works perfect!!

I liked the fact that it could hold 2 water bottles and keep the weight off of my back. On my first ride the straps continually needed to be tightened and then, on a decent, came completely off. The clips that close the belt came unclipped and everything hit the trail. Very disappointed in the product!

I got this bag for my small 3-5 mile hikes and love it. I do wish it was just a little bigger to hold a little more for my hiking kit. Sits well and love the water bottle holders on the side.

This lumbar pack was designed for biking, but I use it exclusively for trail running, and it works great for me. The belt tightens around your waste comfortably, and can be adjusted to be just tight enough to keep it from bouncing during my runs while still being comfortable. I mostly use this pack when I plan to run a trail out (usually 3-6 miles) and then walk back to my car. I keep a pair of binoculars, a compact camera, some extra batteries, and a lens cloth in the main compartment. I put my phone in the top compartment while running, so I can listen to bluetooth speakers while running. I store my sunglasses in the same top compartment when I return to my car. I put my car keys in one of the belt pockets (and my mask - as I write this were going through the pandemic). In the other belt pocket I put a snack (trail mix/energy bar). It has enough room for everything I want in a trail run / hike without extra space that would just add weight and bulk to my run. The pack has two pockets for storing water bottles. I only ever use one. I have an Osprey water bottle from another lumber pack, and that fits perfectly, but any number of bottles will fit just fine. The pocket compresses flat when not in use, so its not in your way if you dont need to carry water. When using the water bottle pocket, you need to snap two parts of a sleeve together to hold the water bottle in place above another strap that keeps the bottle from falling through. If you dont do this, your bottle will almost certainly fall through the sleeve, but using the sleeve properly Ive not had this happen to me. Theres another elastic drawstring that wraps around the top of your bottle to help hold it in place. A few reviews have mentioned having water bottles fall through the water bottle pocket. I strongly suspect that this is because they didnt snap the two parts of the sleeve together and use the elastic drawstring. The AirScape backpanel is designed to produce some ventilation and keep you from sweating too much while biking/running. Im sure it helps, but I live in Florida. Its hot. I sweat. Nothing is going to stop that. But its just the right size for my needs, and it is comfortable. For street running when I plan to run a loop and back to my car, I dont need this much room. I use the Osprey Duro Solo, which holds my keys, my phone, and a single water bottle with room for nothing more. If you need to carry more (like a jacket), you might consider the Oprey Talon 6, though that size is overkill for me. Overall, this pack is perfect for what I need to do, and I couldnt recommend it more highly.

This is a GREAT bag. Perfect size. I can fit my wallet, sunglasses, keys, and makeup (as well as some extra snacks and treats for my dog. All the pockets are easily accessible and the zippers never accidentally come open. It definitely can be worn in many different ways. I’ll even sling it over my shoulder and wear it like a crossbody bag if I’m bendin a lot and don’t want it around my waist. But when I do wear it around my waist, I’ll even attach my dogs leash to it and it’s just an awesome hands free option. I’m using this as my everyday bag.

My main concern with this pack was that it would feel really awkward and unbalanced when one bottle was empty. This wasnt the case, and honestly the pack keeps the weight so close to you that you dont really notice the weight of the water much at all. At first the pack moved up and down a lot, I found that lowering it onto my hip bones and strapping it down pretty tight kept it securely in place. The storage is a bit small, but Im able to fit all of my essentials in here. I can fit a wind jacket, multitool, spare bike tube, small med kit, a few odds and ends, and a good amount of snacks. This is like the 5th Osprey pack Ive owned in the last few years, they are quality. My hiking pack has lasted me for nearly 6 years and looks good as new, my 3 year old bike backpack has survived all of my worst spills. I can say the build quality from their other packs certainly seems to have manifested itself in this one, and I expect it to last for many years to come. ALSO the people who say their waterbottles are falling out didnt read the instructions. There is a little loop in the bottle holder that snaps into place with 2 snap buttons on each side. This holds your bottle over the strap. Also the shock cord might eventually give out, but its a pretty easy repair. I was never worried about my water bottles coming loose, they seem pretty snug.

Originally purchased for a trip to Boundary Waters. I packed it SUPER full and the zippers were up for the challenge. The top carry handle is great for not dumping out your water or other items when handling the bag. It also stands up because of the semi-rigid back. Speaking of which, the back panel is supremely comfortable. Ive worn it in front and back, walking and mountain biking. The nailed the fit. Just the right amount of padding while not getting too hot. Some complain about the water bottle holders, but I love that they snap and fold away when not being used. I sometimes carry only one water bottle so this is really handy. Shorter water bottles (think standard bike bottles) work best. I have fit a taller 27.5 oz. bottle, but it doesnt feel secure when riding. Also 32oz. Hydroflasks = no go. There are a number of straps to keep everything tight and I used these to attach multi-tools, bug nets, sanitizer etc. My one complaint is that the small top zipper compartment, looks to be for a phone or sunglasses, fills the main zippered compartment. Ive noticed that only flat objects can fit in that pocket if the main compartment is full. Overall, this is the best non-bladder Osprey fanny pack. Save $30 and buy your own water bottles, you wont be disappointed.
