Philips 468926 Hue White Ambiance E12 Decorative Candle 6W Equivalent Dimmable LED Smart Bulb (Compatible with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant)

I replaced my outdoor porch and driveway lights with these bulbs, and so far they are working perfectly. One of these bulbs gives off as much light as three of the traditional bulbs, and I love that these can be programmed to automatically turn on at dusk and off at dawn. They also can be dimmed/brightened and have a range of soft yellow to bright white light. They are marketed for indoor use, but they have survived 3 Minnesota winters outside (actually all 4 seasons including a particularly hot summer).

I have been using the Philips 468926 Hue White Ambiance E12 Candelabra 6 Watt Connected LED Bulb for the last few days and it works great. I have two use cases for this bulb: First, a few years ago, I was given a vintage lamp that only takes an E12 bulb. My whole house is Apple Homekit enabled, so I placed an iDevices switch:

Love this lights !! I have several in my home. I have the Alexa app on my phone, and Alexa Echo Dot Connet internet and they all work wonderfully. Some of them are even different styles too. I don’t need anything else to make all of them work. I installed these lights in the my ceiling fan and they work perfectly.

I like them but were too bright for the lamp I had so I returned them.

I love having these bulbs in my home (i have several in various rooms). As far as the Candle/decorative ones I did find they are noticeably bigger than the typical candle/decorative bulb (see pics). And then I was very sad that I couldnt get them in the lamp glass for my ceiling fan. Out of desperation, I tried a hack by cutting the tip of the bulb off to shorten the length and voila ... it worked. Now it may not look as awesome and Im sure I voided any warranty it had, but I have yet to have a guest or anyone notice and it WORKS

These are great, with one caveat. The price. Ridiculous. Currently, Philips makes the only smart e12 smart bulb that I could find after searching high and low. Unfortunately many of the lights in my home take this style of bulb. It will be cheaper to replace the light fixtures than add these bulbs to come of them. Totally taking advantage of the market right now. In two years these bulbs will be $5. That said, I did buy one. And it works beautifully. Update 1-2-18 found e12 bulbs today at ikea for $6.99 and they work great. Got 4 for the price of one of these. Get it ogether Phillips!

Absolutely fantastic lights great color easy to install

Im all about buying these, but I bought 3 this time of these Hue White Ambiance Decorative lights with the small base. I opened them today as I just put my new ceiling fan up. Of the 3, 2 were frosted glass and one was not, which I thought was weird. So I put them in my new fan, and ran the Hue app to add them to my network. Well, lo and behold, the 3rd light is not a smart light, its just a regular LED light! So please check your lights carefully!
