I love Philips Hue products but these didn’t make the cut. I bought them for my clear glass pendant lights over my island. They worked perfectly but the light they gave was too warm/yellow for the location. These, in my opinion, are better suited for accent lighting, not task lighting. They weren’t bright enough or “white” enough for the lighting most people want or need above a kitchen island.

I think they went a bit too warm with this light. I am interested in a cooler color version of this that isnt so orange. As other reviews mentioned, this is on the far side of warm-colored. This doesnt work for me in a bedroom/study room. 3000k would be reasonable compromise between cool and warm color that I think would please most customers. Why no 3000k version?

If you are looking for one of the Edison style bulbs, double check the temperature rating of the bulbs, especially if you want the option of having anything but an AMBER light. I really wanted a cool white light source, but in an Edison style bulb. My local Home Depot had the bulbs in stock, but not tuneable to cool white. Trust me, Amber is NOT a good task light source!

Product photos are a bit deceptive, it looks like you can go full orange and adjust whiteness, but this gives off full on orange light. Way too much for me and I like orange light and use screen tint on all my devices.

I bought one a coupe of years ago and after a while it started turning on randomly and flickering. I figured it was a bad bulb. I decided to buy 6 more for a light fitting hoping I’d have better luck…. Nope immediately they flicker, hue help told me to change zigbee channel (I did over and over, also reset my app, bridge and unpaired and repaired all 7 bulbs) they worked great for several hours then the issue started again. I have an old house with old wiring, so I’m sure it’s related, but just a heads up for anyone else, these bulbs must need very specific conditions. I have dozens of regular hue bulbs and have never had a single issue, it seems to just be these filament style ones

I have 5 of these bulbs in a chandelier fixture in my dining room. They worked great for about 2 years, but then they started to randomly turn on. I would turn off all the lights, but one by one, each bulb would turn back on until all 5 were on again. Only way to keep them off now is the light-switch, which defeats the purpose of smart bulbs. After 3 years, the bulbs started to flicker -- mostly for a while when turned on but also just random flickers here and there. For the price and brand name of these bulbs, I had expected a product at Hues regular standard. I like the vintage look but not the vintage performance.

I own two normal Hue light bulbs and wanted these for my exposed lights, and these are definitely orange compared to normal white lights. The lights themselves are great though.

I have a lamp in my office that I historically had an Edison bulb in and the fixture was connected to a Wemo plug. I’ve the years I’ve gotten rid of my Wemo plugs and put in Hue bulbs to avoid having so many devices on my wireless network. However, I was not able to do it with this fixture until this bulb was released. Once I got it, I screwed it into the fixture and it failed to turn on. I tried other fixtures and it worked fine. Upon reading some reviews I found many people had an issue where the bulb could not screw in enough to connect the the base to provide power, so I gave up. However, a few weeks later I looked at the fixture and found a piece of metal in the base that I was able to bend up. Once I did that, I was able to screw in the bulb and it worked! Overall a great addition to the Hue family.
