PlayStation Vita Memory Card 64GB (PCH-Z641J)

Really wish Sony had used a micro SD card but understand they were trying to sell their product. People have found hacks around this but if youd like to keep your system compliant this is the best available option for large capacity. Now that the Vita has been discontinued Im guessing this items will further increase in price so get them now.

... but it is waaay over priced (as are all of the Vita system memory cards). Honestly, I think SEN has been exceptional at providing product and pricing options that work to get all levels of gamers into the game (for lack of a better word). However, I feel the Vita cards, and the Memory Stick Duos before them are/were the most horrific customer wallet ravaging in their console history. Granted, the MS Duo eventually expanded exponentially size-wise, but the cards initial size constraints were truly unbearable. Fortunately, you were eventually able to purchase off-brand sticks (and stick adapters for Micro SD card implementation). The maximum additional memory went from Megabytes to Gigabytes as well. Perhaps one day Sony will kick out its obsession for gauging on these cards. Until then, the benefits of the largest available PSVita memory card are worth it... but still make you nearly cry when you shell out your coin.

Unfortunate as it is that Sony opted for proprietary memory cards on the PS Vita, this memory card has served me well and holds dozens of PS Vita / PS1 games. This is considerably a better option than a MicroSD adaptor if you have physical Vita games, as the adaptors plug in to where physical games go.

I highly recommend this size memory card for any PS Plus subscribers. I just got my PS Vita Slim a couple of days ago and already have about 10 free games installed in the Vita and expect to download many more as they become available for free or heavily discounted. I agree, its a little over priced, however it works flawlesly and I dont know if any standard type memory card would be able to perfrom at the level needed for the Vita. Remember you are running full games from these cards, and these graphically intensive games like Borderlands 2, Uncharted, etc. require good performing cards to run perfect. So, although the price is an issue this size of memory card is the best bang for the buck at about $1.8 per GB... not too bad. And finally for those frequent questions (including some I had) here are a few responses: It is actually 59GB and not 64GB (this is the way it is for any other memory cards out there, including hard drives, etc.) It will work with any US Vita models including the Slim (PCH2000)

I couldnt find a 64gb in the us as its only available in japan so i was happy that i could order it from amazon happy with the product, though i wish sony would learn from their mistakes and make a new device with standard memory and chargers from the beginning

A little pricey, but this is the best option for your PS Vita, especially if youre looking to do a lot of digital downloads from the PSN store. It will be able to store most of your gaming and media needs with some room to spare. Previously I had purchased an 8 gb card when I bought the Vita, but that quickly filled up, so I was looking for something with a little bit more memory and this was the biggest option they had. I transported all of my files and savegames from my other memory card via Sonys own memory transfer program that works on both Mac and PC, and now I dont have to worry about using up all my space. Like I said, the price is a little on the high side for a memory card, and Sony sucks you in with their specific Vita memory cards, but if you use your Vita a lot, this one is a no-brainer.

Its is a Japanese import but most importantly YES, it WILL work on a US Vita =D Originally selling for $135, the 64GB Vita memory card (of which you get 59GB to work with) now sells for $88 to $100. Shipping costs are not included in that figure and yes, it’s online only for those who live in The States. In hindsight it’s better than paying the same amount for a 32GB Vita memory card. As the last two reviewers said, although it is a 64GB Memory Card, you only get 59 to work with while the remaining 5GB is partitioned. Even so, its ALOT of memory at your disposal. It made sense for me to get one given I use my Vita for more than just playing video games. I also download movies and Anime Episodes from The Playstation Store. Since I plan to buy the Gamestop Exclusive Aqua Blue Vita, I will buy a second 64GB Memory Card in a few weeks. If you’re getting a Vita between now and the end of the year, the 16GB one I replaced (of which you get 14GB to work with) should be fine. That will cover a good 5 to 8 Vita games, 10 to 15 PS One Games and 7 to 12 PSP Games. It goes for about $25 nowadays. This is of course assuming you load it with just games. The Vita supports MP3s for Music plus it has the camera function for taking pictures, video and screenshots (Press Home + Start together). TV Episodes range from 225MB to 500MB for Standard Definition and 1GB to 3GB for HD. Movies are usually 750MB to 1.5GB for Standard Definition and 5GB to 12GB for HD. Those things will eat up your storage if you’re not careful! If you plan to download alot of Games, TV Shows/Movies and other content, its an absolute must. DLC content adds up too so...yeah. Even so, it should last you a good while ^_^

OK, as I write this, this memory card costs over $100 and thats a travesty. I think Sonys made the same mistake they made with the PSP by making an awesome piece of hardware hindered by memory issues. With that out of the way, were talking about a 64Gb Vita memory card which is *spectacular*. I was running an 8Gb for two years and anyone with Playstation Plus knows thats just a failure. So, after two years of ownership, I decided to up my game, spend the cash and now Im set (for a little while at least!) 64Gb is great as I have maybe 7-8 PSP titles, about 20 Vita titles available at any time. The way it should be. The price is a downer, but that will eventually come down. As for the hardware, this thing is exactly what I needed and dont listen to any reviews that state otherwise. Cough up the money or deal with smaller memory cards. Simple! Im glad I bought this. Now my Vita does what it should have been doing for two years.

A few things to understand. 1. It’s a 64gb memory card. 2. It is for the Vita. 3. It holds a lot of games, taking into consideration that most games for the Vita are 1 to 3 GB. (Sometimes less depending on what you enjoy.) 4. It isnt cheap. 5. And it is a Sony product which is why it isn’t cheap. So to the people that are giving the product a 1 star rating, stop. The price is what it is. Go complain on Sonys message boards if you dont like it. Now back to the review. Taking that all in, you need to ask yourself only one question. What price would you pay to have just about an unlimited amount of space? I was previously using a 16 GB card. Which could hold 3 to 4 Vita games depending. (Borderlands 2 takes up a lot of space to install) Now I can say with certainty that the 64 GB version can hold at least 32 games, and still have 13 GB left on standby. The standby memory has more than my 16 GB card had before adding anything to it. (Remember that the cards have coding which takes away from the storage) Meaning that the 64 GB card actually has 59 GB worth of free space – and my 16 GB had only 12.5 GB of free space. I must admit, it took a while for me to receive my order for my 64GB ps vita memory card. But it was well worth the wait for this much storage capacity! This memory card with this much space is very ideal for downloading and installing A Lot of games!
