PlayStation Vita Memory Card 64GB (PCH-Z641J)

> 3 dayIf we overlook the fact that the price is far too high for a 64 gb card and just review it on its merits, this card is great. The fact is if you own a vita, you need a memory card and the 64gb card is the largest and the the cheapest in terms of dollars/gb. If you own a vita and have playstation+, you want to have a lot of space for all those vita games that come with it. Some games can be quite large and if you hate swapping data like I do, a 64 gb card will do the trick. Note that the packaging is all in Japanese, but vitas are not region locked, so it works fine in a US vita.

Greater than one weekThe space vs. price trade off is debatable. Yes you do get a ton of storage space for games, videos, etc and should technically never needed another memory card again (unless you download EVERYTHING). But the damn thing costs half of what the console itself it does. Plus you have to have it imported and wait days or week or even months depending on the vendor/shipping methods. As with any Memory Card, actual available space is 59GB NOT 64GB. But considering the other options 8GB (standard in most retailers), 16GB (not as common to find), and the 32GB (extremely rare to find, did SONY stop making these? ran out? emptied out available supply? did not expect people to buy these?), cant complain. The memory card is the released in Japan only 64GB card (theres a Hon Kong version floating around, not sure if that one is legit), BUT its universal and region free and will work on any PS Vita. I have a US 3G/Wifi Vita and the memory card worked without a hitch. I had an 8GB and ran out of space within a week. I tried to get a 32GB at local retailers and no one had it. Searched online and the prices where insane, almost about the same for a 32GB as it was with the 64GB. As of the time of review, I have 13 apps, 12 Vita games, 8 PS Ones, and 9 PSP games downloaded and installed and still have 32.9GB left. Pros - Space. 59GB NOT 64GB (As is the case with any memory card). - Universal and region free, plug it in the memory card slot and start saving - Minimal packaging. Cons - Price. REALLY Expensive, anywhere between $100.00 to $200.00 depending on the vendor. But considering youll have enough space for everything, pretty much debatable. - Packaging not in English. This is more so in case the card doesnt work or something goes wrong. But you can always return to vendor within the refund period.

> 3 dayWith all the free games for Vita with Playstation Plus, I wanted as much storage as possible to load games on. I didnt want to take a chance on changing memory cards all the time because these things are very, very tiny. 64 GB of space will hold me over for a very long time. Like others, I was a little dismayed by the high cost of this item, but it is what it is. You need a high speed card to keep up with the demand of games and this baby is quick and big. Prices are not relative with size, i.e. the 32GB is not half the cost of the 64GB card, so I just bit the bullet and bought this. Buy big now instead of regretting it later.

> 3 dayYes, its hard to swallow the price of this card, and it would be nice if it didnt have to be imported to the US, but that being said, I am EXTREMELY happy to have it. I really like the idea of going all-digital for many reasons, like 1. dont have to take extra time to shuffle around game cards if you want to switch out games when youre on the go, 2. dont have to find space to carry all the extra cards when traveling, 3. environmentally friendly, 4. load times seem to be more forgiving with some titles, and 5. with some patience, I have largely been able to find digital sales for games that well exceed physical sale prices. I had been juggling two 8g cards since the launch of the Vita Slim (pain in the culo), and since that time I have saved so much money on digital sales, I decided to grab a 64g card. Shortly after, I was gifted a one-year PS+ subscription, and am stoked to have this card now for the IGL as well as for the PSP and PSOne library titles. I have 41 games on this card and still have over 25g to spare. I would also say that for the current price of a 32g card, it made more sense to me to pay the little bit extra for the 64g card. So, something else to think about there, because I dont think Ill be hurting for space any time soon. I havent had any issues at all with this card and transferring data or recognizing content. The shipping was very fast (much faster than the estimated time by weeks). I really cant think of any reason for a Vita owner not to have this card, ESPECIALLY if they are a PS+ subscriber.

> 3 dayPretty simple; you must have this if you have a Vita. Well, you dont have to. You could carry around all your games on cards. But even then youd need at least a 4GB card for saves and updates; and a recent Killzone update required I believe around 4 GB (which then reduced itself after unpacking, but still). The downside is, its stupid that this is a proprietary card system and costs twice as much. If Sony had gone standardized, I could have gotten a 128GB card for the same amount. The response is probable something about all cards being the same for performance reasons, etc. Regardless, the card has worked very well and I never have to worry about space. If you ever have to delete a game to make room, you can always re-download it later for free from PSN (true across all devices-PS3/PS4 and Vita). This is a much more relevant device now too since the PS4 is the new leading console and the Xbone stuff is junk. Makes a great accessory to the PS4 for second screen, remote play, and the whole Sony universe. Also, PS+ has more than paid for itself already.

> 3 dayI purchased two of these ridiculously expensive PSV memory cards from seller APEX GAMES (USA) with FBA (fulfilled by Amazon). I originally only purchased one for my husband, but after browsing Amazon and getting great deals on PS Vita games it only made sense to just get one for myself. I do want to note beforehand that the cards I received from APEX GAMES (USA) are the Asia version (Taiwan/Korea - PCH-Z641G), NOT Japan version (PCH-Z641J) like stated in the description and title. Because of this I knocked off one star as I did not receive the actual version I paid for. After reading up on differences and seeing that the G version cost more on the play-asia site (where PS Vita is commonly found), that site states the J version may experience issues with PSV 1000 devices (aka fat vitas). Now I dont own the PSV 1000, but the 2000 slim so I decided to keep the G and tested them out. So far no issues only time will tell when and if these cards deteriorate with excessive use. I was able to transfer a small saved file I had from my internal slim memory onto the card without any issues. Ive read issues with both G and J versions so whatever card I got would of been a risk either way. Leave it to Sony to make a proprietary memory card that might and might not work overtime with such a high price tag. Both cards gave me 60gb of free storage. If you are wondering where the 4gb went, simple answer is system data after formatting. UPDATE: I ordered a third 64gb PSV memory card for another PS Vita, but this time from seller cus mart and got exactly as advertised! BRAND NEW SEALED PCH-Z641J and is in working order. So far both Japan (PCH-Z641J) and Asia (PCH-Z641G) versions of this 64gb memory card has been working perfectly since purchase. NEVER remove the memory card while your device is on/sleep mode, high chances of file corruption. UPDATE #2: Ordered another memory card for my 4th new silver PS Vita from seller NuBlissful with FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon). Card came brand new in original packaging as advertised and is working great!

> 3 daylets see since the memory cards from sony are expensive and this being the only memory card so far with the biggest storage, i would say this is the best bang for your buck. i believe the 32 gb memory card cost around 70 dollars last i checked and i bought this for a little over 100 so i got twice the storage for an extra 30 bucks that i wouldve spent on the 32 gb and i ordered this along with the borderlands 2 ps vita bunduru and works perfectly fine i was able to download borderlands 2 on it along with the dlc with no problems so yes it works fine but i would only recommend if you plan on going all digital (like me)

Greater than one weekSonys insistence on keeping Vita memory cards proprietary (not even letting 3rd party companies making and releasing their own versions) is ridiculous, but no use whining now after all these years. If youre going to get a memory card, it might as well be the largest around for the best value. 64GB doesnt sound like much in this day and age where phones come in 64 and even 128GBs. But trust me, for gaming purposes, its plenty and will alst you a long time. game saves barely take up any space at all and the bulk of your memory will most likely be taken up by digital games you purchase (or get free every month from Playstation Plus). Game sizes can vary, though massive games that take up 3/4 GBs are pretty rare. 64GB will hold plenty of games to play for quite a while.

> 3 dayItem came quick and on time. Only thing that boths me is the price tag. But it is understandable since prices are going up for gaming since the pandemic hit.
