Pretty simple; you must have this if you have a Vita. Well, you dont have to. You could carry around all your games on cards. But even then youd need at least a 4GB card for saves and updates; and a recent Killzone update required I believe around 4 GB (which then reduced itself after unpacking, but still). The downside is, its stupid that this is a proprietary card system and costs twice as much. If Sony had gone standardized, I could have gotten a 128GB card for the same amount. The response is probable something about all cards being the same for performance reasons, etc. Regardless, the card has worked very well and I never have to worry about space. If you ever have to delete a game to make room, you can always re-download it later for free from PSN (true across all devices-PS3/PS4 and Vita). This is a much more relevant device now too since the PS4 is the new leading console and the Xbone stuff is junk. Makes a great accessory to the PS4 for second screen, remote play, and the whole Sony universe. Also, PS+ has more than paid for itself already.

One of the biggest downfalls of Sony and their many mobile devices is that they often try to rely upon their own proprietary media formats. This has almost ALWAYS failed for them and the PlayStation Vita memory card is no exception. Instead of using the widely accepted SD format, Sony created this card for the system. Its very difficult to find these cards at a reasonable price, even for a VERY small amount of memory (microSD cards can be had for very cheap with large amounts of memory). And the fact that the Vita is practically useless without one is beyond frustrating. We can hope that eventually Sony will learn that forcing their own media down the throats of consumers and will use standard formats, but until then youll be shelling out $80 for a 64GB card like this.

When we purchased our PS Vita over a year ago, we bought with it the smallest, rinky-dink memory card (8 GB), which for whatever reason we never bothered to upgrade. We also never really bothered to use our Vita. The fact is that it was just too much hassle to continually go through the motions -download, install, delete, download, install, rinse, repeat -for the Vita to be worth using. Recently, though, we took the PSplunge and bought this Big Boy 64 GB Mucho Macho memory card and Wow! at the difference. How nice it is to finally install so many titles from our extensive collection* AT THE SAME TIME! Now we take our Vita with us almost everywhere. The only trouble is that Im suddenly tempted to buy even more video games. (I already gave in and bought the Final Fantasy X/2 HD for the Vita.) And just to be clear for anyone who may be leery about whether this product will work work with Vitas in North America, I can personally vouch for it. We have had absolutely no technical difficulties; it works as advertised. *Our Vita game collection is mostly the result of the PS Plus program which frequently gives away digital gaming titles to subscribers. I would claim the games when they came available, even when we were not actively using our Vita.

March 23rd I bought, August 20th it died. What happened? Well, the PS Vita stopped reading the memory card. Yes, my PS Vita can still read memory cards, as I have tried others. This is also why I like to wait to write reviews on things such as electronics. After this experience I regret buying it. I bought it for the convenience of having a lot of memory, however, that was short lived, about 5 full months, it lasted. Considering the price, thats pathetic...now if only I could get a replacement from the seller or a refund... Look Ive tried everything, you can look it up and read all this other review talking about the same thing...in the end get the 32gb card or 16gb. Yes, It would be awesome to have a lot of games on 1 system; however, it seems the higher you go, the more problems.

Im going to start my review off by being very frank: If you are an avid PS Vita gamer, dont cheap out and just get this card. No, the memory card is not region locked and is usable on any PS Vita, so no excuses. When youre sitting on the 1GB of internal stock memory that came with the Vita, the amount of decent games you can play within that memory budget becomes little to none. Its worth it in the long run. Yes, its expensive. I could go on and on about how I and everyone else hate Sonys model of proprietary memory on the Vita, but Im going to refrain from doing that and try to keep my review focused on the actual card itself Now that I finally have my memory card, I was able to shake the dust off my Vita that I never played because again, only had 1GB of memory to work with. Ive since began downloading some of the free PS+ games I accumulated for the Vita over the last few years of being a PS+ member as well as some other digital titles that I actually paid for. Lastly, dont worry about any data you already have on your internal memory card. After youve inserted your new memory card and powered on your Vita, it will prompt you to transfer your data from the internal storage to your new 64GB storage without you needing to do anything. I included an image in my review showing you the data transfer in progress. I can now play my JRPGs in peace. Shouldnt have to worry about memory for a while now.

I just bought a PlayStationTV & have many various format gems of games to buy through its store & need a beefy memory card for the virtual downloads & save data. From what I can tell, this capacity card can only be found on online. It performs as expected with no problems & has fast read/write speed. Packaging does not state the speed however. I would have given this item a 5 star rating if it werent for SONYs msrp. This proprietary card is expensive everywhere! As of this typing, most brands various memory card formats are at a ratio of 1 U.S. dollar or less per GB. Many stores, both online & physical, seem to be selling the 32GB for only $20 less than the 64GB. If you can spare the difference, I recommend buying this 64GB card. You can never have enough space!

This is the the biggest available memory card on the market. Yes, its expensive. Yes, its proprietary. Yes, its not available in the USA yet. If you really must have a PS Vita memory card, and plan to download games, whether they be PS1 classics or full PS Vita games, this is the card for you. It is currently compatible with both the North American PS Vita and PS Vita Slim. Copying information from your old memory card to this one is as easy as plugging your PS Vita with the old memory card into your PC and selecting memory management in the PS Vita options. Create a backup, then plug the new memory card in, restore the backup to the new memory card. No hassle. This same process can be completed using your PS3 or PS4 as well.

Considering your Vitas library will consist of mostly digital downloads in 2019 you will definitely want the biggest memory card option out there. It was simple to install and mine is working flawlessly with no issues. I have seen that some people reported that there are 2 models of this memory card. I received the Japanese version that is advertised (PCH-Z641J) and it works perfectly fine in my U.S. unit. At 80+ bucks it is expensive considering you can get an sd card with 4 times as much memory for the price but, sometimes you just gotta pay to play. Would definitely recommend to anybody looking to expand their game library or just needs more storage for music/movies.
