> 3 dayI had a VM image stored on the drive, the drive just stopped responding without any warning. Now when I plug the drive in I get this error. Do not buy any PNY SSDs.

Greater than one weekTiny, looks and feels high quality, great price, and I was able to get the advertised speeds with my 2019 iMac 5K. I havent seen any other portable SSDs in this price range come close to these speeds. I was wary of purchasing due to other reviews claiming it didnt get the advertised speeds, but maybe their computers dont support USB 3.1 gen 2, or maybe the 250 GB version is slower than the 1 TB version that I got.

> 3 dayWhat I dislike comes first: 1) The USB C to C cable that came with the drive was faulty. Im using it using the USB A to C cable that came with it as a result, but got it for the C to C capability. 2) The USB cables are short. That could be a plus if youre using this on a laptop, but on a desktop youll either need a new cable or have the drive hanging in the air on the side of your case. 3) The drive gets really hot under normal use. The good: fast enough to use as my boot drive for a second OS install. Works.

> 3 dayI purchased the external drive to store files that I want access to but not have them using space on my MAC harddrfive. I am amazed at how fast the drive processes files. Also, the drive ejects from my MAC instantly when commanded to do so. I would definitely purchase another of the drives if/when I need one.

Greater than one weekI bought a few of these to try them out, because I shoot and edit video, and thought if they worked well, theyd be a bargain. These SSDs tend to get very hot, even when the computer is idle, and when they get too hot, transfer speeds slow to a crawl. I currently have two of these sitting on top of a little turbo desk fan in order to keep them cool enough to process quickly. If you dont mind that headache, go for it, but Id also be concerned these will overheat and your data will be gone.
