I bought this to spend a weekend enjoying myself gaming. I spent many fun hours playing this game and it was worth the price. While it is not like other traditional Pokemon games, a fan of these series would love to play this.

this game is everything i was expecting. i held out a few weeks to buy it and when i finally did, i was so hooked i finished most of the side quests, caught over 100 pokemon, and finished the story in a week! i still have to catch ‘em all but overall i love this game!

It was great just catching the Pokémon and not getting into unnecessary trainer battles. The open world direction was a good move for Game Freak

Game is fun, but the story was a little messed up considering the original pokemon lore.

I really like this game. They give you thousands of things to do with the pokemon. Its great to have the incentive to go out and use a cacoon pokemon or incentive to catch 30 of the same pokemon. This is how the new Pokedex works and your rewarded for your efforts in poke-bucks, in the ability to catch higher level pokemon, and very useful information. It really isnt true open world. However, there are very large sections that when your in them it is open world you just cant go from the mountains to the plains you gotta go home then travel. The whole PokeBall and catching system is my favorite improvement. you can craft s wide array of PokeBalls that work better for different types of pokemon, like the iron ball for big heavy pokemon or the sky ball for Quick flying pokemon. Sneaking in grass to catch Pokemon is awesome or catching it unware with a PokeBall to the back of the head to start the battle with 2 moves before it can pull of one is rewarding The variant pokemon are pretty fun too. Each pokemon feels more unique, I havent used a pokemon I didnt like and Ive used most of them. Speaking of pokemon no need to worry about not evolving right away they learn every move in their list regardless of evolution. A couple negatives would be the story, its nothing too good better than the same story we have played since the 90s but still not super impressed with it. Also the intro felt way way too long, the first hour and some odd minutes your stuck talking to people not catching Pokemon and eating with the new professor. Another downside is the graphics Im not sure if they were rushed but it looks like a Nintendo game from a decade ago. This could be a pro or con but the need to catch the same pokemon dozens of time can feel like grinding, I like this sorta thing but I know some people who didnt dig it. Overall if you like pokemon this is a must buy, its everything the pokemon games of old were and then made so much better. Battle is improved, the pokemon design and movements are great with a nice variety. I had the most fun just wandering filling up my Pokedex with random jobs of which every pokemon has an average of 5-6 jobs to complete. Out of 10 Id give it a solid 8.5. best pokemon game since HeartGold/soul silver.

Very fun game if youre a Pokemon fan! Too much talking though because I dont like story mode, i wish it was more open world but it is a step in the right direction. Amazon almost forgot to deliver it on time until i contacted amazon support.
