I am running 22 265s for front, 80 F/Xs for rears and a 255 for a center channel. They sound great, especially the midrange. I have another setup in my house using the Polk RC series and there is a vast difference. I am using a Polk PSW-550 sub to round out the system and they all sound great. I am driving them with an Onkyo 509 receiver. They are well built, the mounts are visibly more robust than the RC series speakers. All of these are mounted in open cavities (the wall speakers back into an unfished storage room and the F?X are in the ceiling, I was concernd that without a box they may suffer on sound, but that has not bee an issue.

The mounting of the in-wall speaker is easy and it’s not. In wall speakers are primarily made for new construction installation. With new construction you can more properly place the speakers and bury the wires more easily. These points are especially true for ceiling placement. For old construction, if you are not adept at finding the studs you could make a major mistake and have more work after installation. Burying the wires could be very difficult depending on the distance involved. Overall my installation was not particularly difficult. Having the rear speaker wires already in place made it a little easier. My main gripe about the speakers are the ingenious mounting tabs. You have to be extremely care when clamping the speaker frame to the wall board. If not you can brake the clamp so to render it useless or pull the screw head through the hole that is supposed to supply the force to keep the clamp tight. I’ll probly buy the center speaker also. Even more difficult to install due to having to cut a stud to properly center it.

Fabulously easy to install. The grills are held on with magnets and create a seriously low-profile look. The sound is just what I wanted - amazing for both surround and turntable music from my receiver! Highly recommended.

This is the first of 2 reviews. I received my two (2) In-wall 265RT speakers from Amazon on Friday afternoon. Opened the shipping box over the weekend and as always, Amazon did a great job of packing the speakers in bubble wrap within a larger box. Unfortunately, one of the individual speaker manufacturer boxes looked like it had been dropped pretty hard (see pics) while the other box was pristine. For what I paid per speaker, Im really hoping BOTH work without issue. I have a contractor installing them later this week. Ill let you know how it turns out.

I am using these as my FL/FR speakers in a 7.1 system. These speakers are truly amazing! They were easy to install and have amazing sonic depth for the price. The Dual speakers really enable a much richer sound than a single speaker can afford. Highly recommend!

These speakers are super easy to install and sound incredible but only AFTER you add a sub woofer. I have (4) 2 way JBL studio monitors on our main floor with a Klipsch sub as my comparison. I was hoping to not need a sub as the 265s have a woofer built in. After installation I hooked them up to my Yamaha receiver to see what they sounded like. Very tinny at lower listening levels. As I increased the volume they began to clear up and come into their own. At levels that my neighbors likely wouldnt enjoy they sounded REALLY good. I went downstairs and grabbed my Klipsch sub and added it to the mix, problem solved sounded INCREDIBLE!! Knowing what I know now I would have just bought their 2 way speakers, saved a bunch of money, and added the much needed sub to the system. Grilles are super clean but I think Ill leave them off. These look REALLY sexy without the grilles on them and even the wife agreed.
