Greater than one weekI purchased the HURON model. Best part of this humidifier is the top fill concept. In theory its nice to fill from the top. You can refill the unit with the lid on or by remicing the lid. I found that the lid must be removed to fill. You need to pour very slowly because the slot (opening) in the lid isnt big enough and water spills over. Also, the lid does not seat very secure or snug. There is nothing to make sure the lid stays on. A simple bump and the lid falls off and water is everywhere. Make sure you have your unit on a very stable table away from possible or potential accidental bumps otherwise even a slight bump to the table is enough for the humidifier to spill. It is small even for a bedroom. I was filling my unit twice a day. The amount of mist released on the lowest setting is not enough to properly moisterize/humidify the air. I was barely able to get the humidity level up to 35% on the highest setting. When I first got the humidifier I put it on the lowest setting which took a full week to get the humidity level even close to 30% and wasnt enough to sustain the humidity level. I needed to adjust it to the highest output mist level but then I was refilling the tank twice a day. My bedroom, for reference, is 97 x 14 feet. The mist spout does not rotate and therefore the direction of the mist cannot be adjusted. The location of the spout is at an odd angle. This really limits not only where I can place the unit in my bedroom but the direction of the mist to keep it from landing on sensitive surfaces. In order to position the direction of the mist I needed to rotate the entire unit. I was not able to position the direction of the mist spout. The display panel is very minimal which is what I wanted but what I didnt realize is just how minimal it is. There is no read out per say. All the controls are color coded. The mist level is determined by the brightness of the display light. The type of setting is determined by different colors (red, white, blue). It is challenging to feel confident that the settings are what I want because the difference in light level between the various mist levels is negligent. Its hard to see the difference between low, medium, or high mist level. A reference card is included with the code key for what the various light intensity levels and colors mean. I found I needed to keep rechecking. The overall feel of the unit seems flimsy and cheaply made. Giving me hesitancy as to whether it could last a full winter season. I live in the more northern climate where we are in a deep freeze for 3 out of the 5 winter months furnaces/heating units running full on 24 hrs a day. Daily temps barely above 20 degrees. This makes the air very dry and humidifiers a necessity. I wish I could like this humidifier because in concept it has potential. But it just falls short on too many features for me. I ended up getting something different. I wasnt able to return this because I didnt respond within the return policy window. But hopefully if I keep this unit properly stored I can use it as a back up for just incase moments.

Greater than one weekWish Id looked at the reviews. Like some other reviews here said-- mine stopped working entirely after a few months (of me only using it minimally at night). I tried cleaning it or changing the filter but no go. Light doesnt even go on anymore. Also struggling to return it bc it is past the 30 days. UPDATE: the company reached out to me concerned about my issues with the product. They had me send some detailed images of my unit for their own research and then sent me a new one for free. This one has been working great. Im upping my rating to reflect that the company seems committed to providing the customer with a good product, so while some units may have an issue crop up the company is working to fix it and make things right with their customers.

> 3 dayUsed the silver floating fish to combat bacterial growth but did not see vast improvement. Still keep the lit tapped shut. This unit is a little too bright at night. I have had to also tape over the resevoir and on button to reduce the light at night. I think it is just a cheap unit now that I have another brand. Compared with my new unit, this Geniani seems cheap. Spend the extra $ and get a better unit. This unit does unplug in thr back which I have found I like. That is the only positive after this whole time. I only use it because I paid too much for it. **Updated after a year (above)** Not sure how but I found a live cricket inside my unit. It must have come from the ceiling and fell inside. It is up on a counter about 4 feet tall. I was grossed out. Also found a dead moth inside. Promptly taped up the opening. Now I just take off the lid and add distilled water that way. Not a biggie. Do not like the hole on top for adding water as its open to everything else as well. Loss of 1 star. I will try a different unit next time. The little oil diffuser is a gimmick. Cannot smell a thing. There is a little gap on top as the lid just sits on top. Minor issues basically. Overall I like it. Do not like that I have to block the top off but this is an attractive unit. It hardly makes any noise (as compared to my Vicks brand machines) and I like that I can toggle between less and more moisture (although honestly it doesnt seem like any difference). It is easy to clean. I like that it comes apart into 2 distinct units. I clean my units regularly with bleach water, use a little fish cleaner inside and NEVER use tap water! I can go 2 weeks in between cleanings and have used the same units for years! The distilled water is a MUST! Just an observation from reading reviewers comments who obviously use tap water.

> 3 dayMy wife had been sick for almost 2 weeks with a terrible cough and severe congestion that triggered her asthma and required a trip to the ER. We ordered this humidifier when we got home and it arrived the next day. Within a half hour of getting it we put the water in and turned it on 8n the bedroom. She slept much better that first night without wheezing and the moisture started loosening up the phlegm. She enjoys being able to breathe again without having to use her emergency inhaler or nebulizer. Wish we had bought her one years ago for times like this.

> 3 dayI love this humidifier because it is relatively easy to clean… except for this one part that leads up to the mist chamber (not sure what it is actually called). The rest of this humidifier is easy to take apart and clean… but this part… where I have had mold and other stuff grow despite my regular cleanings, does not come apart easily. It is an absolute nightmare to get off, IF you can even get it off. The other flaw this humidifier has is that after a year or so, when you wash it and let it dry, it doesn’t always work immediately. There have been times where I can’t use it for a couple days because it just won’t run. This is my second of these humidifiers because when I contacted the company about the issue mentioned above they told me it was because something got wet inside that wasn’t supposed to. And that was it. No further help. Normally that would turn me off from a company and their product, but I use a humidifier every night because of my sinuses and the two humidifiers I’ve owned by this company have lasted for upwards of 4-5 years compared to my previous ones that maybe lasted 6 months because I couldn’t clean all the parts well enough because of how they were built.

> 3 dayPuts out a decent mist for such a small unit. That said, I wish I would have bought a larger unit.

> 3 dayIt works well. After a day....pour out water in the bottom. I use moist paper towel with lemon flavored lysol to clean it because the water gets stagnant easily. Its winter and heat is on and it helps keep my nasal passage moist. I would recommend it for this reason. Put essential oil on the tiny sponge located at the back! I use cold water from my tap. Update: it traps dirt/dust from environment and makes it into a slimey gel like thing. You have to pull off cap in cover & wash it out and use tootbrush to wash out the long area that the steam comes through because it traps dirt. It WORKS WELL....but you have to clean it weekly.

> 3 dayA friend was raving how much she loved her new Geniani humidifier so I had to jump on this wagon and get one for my own. I noticed after using it only one night with it running a couple feet away from my bed, that I woke up feeling more refreshed and had a deeper sleep. Without humidifiers I often wake up with a very dry throat, due to some snoring and the dry air in my room from a heater running. But not the first morning after having the Geniani running on intermittent mode (I like how theres a sleeping function to turn off the power light) - I believe the air was so much more moist that my throat was taken care of during the night. This Geniani machine has so many incredible features that I could write several paragraphs on it. So Im going to list the essential pros that I personally enjoy the most: - Its QUIET - I dont hear any motor noises unlike other competitors ones. - During hotter days, the cool gentle mist feels amazing and cooling when it falls onto my skin and wafts past my face and head. I dont have air conditioning in my apartment, so when summer arrives and the heat swelters outside and my room becomes stuffy, I cant wait to have this machine near my chair when Im chilling or watching movies and experience its cool down effects. - Sooo Easy to refill. I use distilled or ultra filtered water and you just pour new water into the top refill opening (even while its still running). Or I can easily just lift the top off and add water there. Older and other models I have used in the past have been very messy with water splashing everywhere when trying to carry the basin to the sink and back to the base. The Geniani is very well-thought out and I can tell the inventor has put great care in its production. - The air in my room feels much more clean and my lungs feel healthier. - I practice hot yoga and now with shelter in place orders due to COVID-19, I have no studio to go to and have to practice in my room on Zoom. This humidifier has helped me create an atmosphere similar to my hot and humid Bikram yoga studio. I simply crank up the heater in my room and put the Geniani next to my yoga mat and it feels like I am in a virtual humid yoga room again - and when Im laying down in savasana at the end of class and looking up at the Geniani perched on my barstool above my head, I see the glorious cooling mist, ever so gently gliding down onto my face...like a slow motion waterfall...wispy cooling clouds, helping me relax and I smile knowing I have truly invested in a great product. Thank you Geniani for creating a fabulous machine that does so much for peoples well-being. I hope you continue to sell TONS of these!
