> 3 dayI bought this to replace a woolen mat by another company that smells like rotten food after using steam one time. For that other brand I tried washing leaving out in the sun and letting it dry out for months but it still infected the things I was ironing with a horrible smell. I got this one, have use light steam, and have not noticed any problem. There is an odor of wet wool (like when you wash a sweater) that goes away when it dries and that does not infect the things you are ironing. There is no residue on my iron, so it must really be 100% wool.

> 3 dayIt is a little flimsy. I was expecting it to be more rigid. I had to iron black pants and they got covered in fuz. I recalled a reviewer’s suggestion to roll the sticky lint roll over the whole surface. I did so but it continues to lose fuz. I then just put my iron straight onto the surface to flatten the fuz and see if that does it. It minimized it but it still has little fuzzies. I just decided to lint roll the pants at the end. I didn’t pay much and this is used for crafting. I’ll use my good ironing board and iron for my garments.

> 3 dayI bought this mat for 2 reasons. One to use on a table in my screen room while wintering in Florida. The second was to use on top of my ironing board when I am back home. So far it has worked out great. I store it under my cutting mat in the RV when not in use. I turn the mat in any direction that suits what I am currently ironing. I can use a large table to support full size quilt and just have the pad under the area, I want to press. Much easier then trying to manipulate a quilt on an ironing board.

> 3 dayStays flat and fabulous and my pieced seams set perfectly. I use both a dry iron and steam. Steam does not affect it, it is porous, so you might want to consider using a small dish towel under it while steaming to protect your table from any moisture. Ive only had slight condensation one time because I was crazy steaming some stubborn seams. Big factor is this thing does not smell. Ive had 2 others and they both smelled even without using any steam. I need to get a larger one and this company will definitely get my business again. I couldnt be happier. It came packaged in a plastic bag with a piece of cardboard to keep it flat, and when not in use, I store it in its orig. packaging.

> 3 dayOrdered this to help speed up the ironing process for making masks. It has made ironing so much easier, I don’t have to get out a large ironing board and it allows me to get crisp seems quickly. It’s the perfect size, a decent price, and arrived quickly. It does leave a little lint on fabrics, but it’s not a big deal.

Greater than one weekI took my new pressing mat to quilt camp so that several people could try it out. I was looking for feedback for myself and also allowing others to try one before purchase. Most users really liked it and some intend to purchase one. Works best with a hot iron - not one in the warming cycle. Seams did not show on top of block due to the thickness of the mat.

20-11-2024I could hardly wait to try out my 100% New Zealand Wool Pressing Mat. I was NOT DISAPPOINTED! My 1/2 square triangle units pressed so flat and crisp that I did not need to use my tailors clap, as I usually do to get a good, flat seam on my quilt blocks. The small unit did not move on the pressing mat, and I got a very flat press on the diagonal seam. I was using a little steam, but found that I get just as good a press without steam. There is a slight odor, not uncommon for wet wool, that seems to diminish with use. Thank you for this product. I am beyond pleased.

> 3 dayHave been using this while quilting and love it. It is true that the heat stays in while pressing and love that you can see yourself in a little corner with sewing machine and iron. Loved it so much, I got one for all 3 of my sisters.
