> 3 dayBased on the reviews here I bought this bike for my almost 2.5 year old. His legs must be short because he cannot reach the floor when sitting on this thing at the lowest setting. Still gave it 4 stars because the construction is solid and even though he cant ride it, he absolutely LOVES his bike. For now he mostly walks next to it, and tries to get on while falling over a lot, but Im sure hell grow into it sometime this summer. I do like that itll grow with him and this will probably be the only bike hell need for quite a few years. The radioflyer look is great and I like the real, air-filled tires. Now if only the weather would warm up so we can play outside.

> 3 dayExcellent product. Researched various air tire balance bikes (air tires are a must get in my opinion), many costing over a hundred dollars more. The Radio Flyer compared favorably to the high cost options in terms of weight, correct posture design and materials. Received the balance bike in excellent condition and am happier every day my 2-1/2 yr. old rides it. My son is starting out at the lowest settings for the seat and handlebars and has plenty of room to grow. The bell is an added bonus and it is really loud (for better or worse).

> 3 dayI would recommend the Radio Flyer Balance Bike to anyone wanting a bike that will help a child learn to ride a bike. I bought my grandson a bike with training wheels when he was three, but it took a long time for him to figure out how to move the pedals. I bought him a balance bike on April 5th of this year. It took him just a few days to figure out how to make this bike go fast. Three weeks after riding the Radio Flyer bike he was going down hills with his feet up and balancing it the entire time. On May 2nd his dad decided to take off his training wheels on his bigger bike, and after 30 minutes he was riding up and down his street on his big bike without training wheels. Its incredible to see him riding without training wheels at 3 1/2 years old. Hes also a smaller child, but a very determined little guy! I wanted to buy him a balance bike the first time, but my daughter and her husband wanted a bike with training wheels. Now that they see what he has done, they believe in the concept of the balance bike. I am so glad that I decided on the Radio Flyer. It was inexpensive compared to so many others, but the quality for the price was remarkable. I wanted the air tires and they proved to be the best! He still loves riding his Radio Flyer even though he has mastered the bigger bike. He absolutely loves the bell too! You cant go wrong with Radio Flyer!!!!

> 3 dayThis thing taught my boy to ride in less than a week. He wouldnt get on his regular bike after the training wheel broke off. I took off the remaining wheel and broken stub from his bike and it sat there collecting dust. I didnt even buy this for him (5 years old) but I bought it for my younger boy (3 years old) but the 5 year old jump on this and began balancing right away. After a few times out with this balance bike, I encouraged him to try his pedal bike but just put his feet on the floor just like the balance bike. He just pedalled away first try. If nothing else, this balance bike encourages confidence! Now my younger boy is learning on it. This one with the rubber tires is much better than the plastic tire version because my boys like to hit turns on this thing and the rubber grips nicely. My buddy has the plastic tire version and his slips out on tight turns. Very recommended. Frank

08-06-2025This is a great beginner bike. Super easy to put together and very lightweight. My 4 year old fits perfectly on it and he loves the bell. I give it 4 stars because the tires are weird. They are a hard foam and really skinny. It has worked good so far but I feel like they could be slick if it were wet out. Overall happy with the purchase.

> 3 dayPurchased this as a gift for a 2 year old and she LOVES it! With the seat in the lowest setting it’s still a little too tall for her, but with some adult help she scoots around the house on it and soon she will be rude it in her own.

> 3 dayAfter looking at absurd prices for other balance bikes, I found this one to be in an awesome price range for something I wasn’t sure about. It was a birthday gift for my almost-three year old. Given about a month early. He flies on this thing. It took a bit for him to get the hang of it, but in true form within two months of fiddling he really started cruising. Now he gets to moving and I can’t keep up. I imagine he’ll never need training wheels when we purchase him his first real bike. The only downside is that the bell likes to fall off and loosen up, it just generally falls apart. My mechanic minded preschooler has figured out how to repair it most of the time, though, and it seems to have taught him a bit about caring for his bike, so I don’t mind the minor inconvenience. But I did take off a star because it’s definitely something the actual product has an issue with.

> 3 dayI got this for my 2 year old nephew, hes big for his age and this was still to big for him, but I believe the box says 2.5-5 years. Hell be the perfect size for it in the spring when the weather is nice, so mom and dad appreciated the early birthday present. I love the fact that these are a thing now, and a great alternative to a trike, and this teaches children about balance and makes it a lot easier for them to transition to a real bike when they get older, in some cases Ive heard the kids skipped training wheels entirely when they started with this. The construction is very sturdy. Rubber, air filled tires which is uncommon for kids stuff like this. Heavy duty metal construction with good welds, almost no plastic on it anywhere. Seat actually has padding and is wrapped in vinyl. The seat uses a quick release to adjust the height, and the handlebars can be adjusted with a wrench as well, meaning the bike will still be good as they get older. This is really a solidly constructed kids bike that I feel confident will still be in great shape even after your child grows out of it, in which case itll still bring joy to the next child it finds its way to.

> 3 dayThe ad states the bike has rubber air filled tires. I was sent a bike with foam tires. From reading other reviews this seems to be a common problem. Had option to return the wrong one and get the rubber tire bike, but should have been done correctly the first time.
