I echo all the good things people say in all the other reviews. It really is the perfect hook. Bought it to have an inside latch on our sliding barn door to the bathroom. Unfortunately, after installing, realized it would not work (my own fault for not seeing this would be an issue ahead of time) because the eye part of the hook (the part attached to the door, stuck out just far enough that it scraped into the wall when you open the door. Darn. Even if we switched the hook & eye pieces, would still have the same problem. Despite that fact, its a great piece of hardware that I will keep for something else. Just be sure to make sure you have the clearance between your door and the wall (when the door is opened) if you plan on using this as an inside latch/lock.

I was incredibly excited about the quality of this latch. I was looking for a simple latch to hold a light door closed in my house. What I got, was a very well made, strong, and beautiful latch. It is built 100 times stronger than your average latch. It has a nice flat black paint job, that actually stays on the latch and not rub off. It is overkill for my purpose, but I would not change my order at all. This will be the latch that I buy in the future. The only thing that I did differently from the installation instructions, was to use much stronger screws. The included screws are the weakest part. I figured that if anyone were to get through my door, it would be from the screws pulling out or breaking. It would not damage the latch itself. I highly recommend this latch. It can latch a door in your house, or a huge thick comercial door. It’s a great product for a great price.

I rent and needed something quick and easy to install to keep my backyard gate closed. I attached it to my gate with zip ties. It came with screws too if you needed to attach it to wood or something. It was exactly what I needed and Definitely good for the price!
