> 3 dayAbsolutely stunning are the words I use to describe this mouse. I play alot of CS and I saw this mouse and was skeptical of it because mice like the G403 and the Zowie EC1A exist but honestly there are functions this mouse does that are simply better than those mice. For example the clutch dpi clutch and the hypershift mode for the mouse are some of the best quality of life features for any FPS gamer. As I mentioned I play CS and if you need to pull out any nade I can bind all my nades to either the side buttons or use the clutch to free up the side buttons and instead only use the dpi clutch to pull the nades. Not only that but the mouse has many many more features I wont get into. Essentially you can program it to do pretty much anything on your PC. From opening programs with a push of a button to text prompts. Also has on-board memory for multiple profiles and to top it all of a mouse wheel resistance tab (for a lack of a better word). This mouse is truly one of my favorites ever. The only downside is the slightly higher delay on the buttons, the Logitech mice all have a button delay of 4 milliseconds while the basilisk and most other mice have a delay of 8 milliseconds. This is the only downside for this mouse and isnt a flaw that will hurt your gaming experience that much. Pros: -Dpi clutch -Fully customization on the buttons that literally allow you to do anything with the mouse -16000 dpi 5G sensor -RGB lighting -Compatible with Razer synapse for all other customization needs -Tension for the scroll wheel is adjustable, not as much as the free wheeling on something like the G903 but regardless a nice touch Cons: -Mouse is a little on the heavy side but no heavier than its main competitor the G403 -Slightly worse delay on the buttons than the Logitech mice but no worse than any other mouse competitor -Razer synapse can be hard to set up but when set up it is pretty straight forward -This may seem nit picky but alot of gunk can get stuck in between the grooves of the thumb rest but its hardly noticeable while playing

Greater than one weekThis is about the 5th or 6th Razer gaming mouse I have purchased over the years. The Basilisk so far has been a solid performer for both gaming and general use. The DPI clutch and wheel friction adjustments are the most novel, cutting edge features. The DPI clutch paddles (two are included) are made out of metal and are held in place magnetically. I do not believe the magnetic/metal nature of the paddle is explained anywhere on the Razer site or in the manual. I find that the right mouse button is easily triggered accidentally. This is probably more a function of how I prefer to hold mice than a design shortcoming. The wheel friction adjuster was one of the selling points for me as I generally find mice wheels rotate too easily, especially in gaming. Even at the maximum friction setting, the wheel is still too loose for my tastes. This mouse includes two lighting zones, the wheel and the logo. The Synapse software provides adequate control over the lighting effects. However, if the Synapse software is not running continuously, the mouse lighting can either be totally off or in a rainbow cycling mode, neither of which is my preference. Lighting effects cannot be saved into the internal, onboard profiles. This limitation coupled with the bloaty nature of the Synapse software, is a real detractor for me. Sort of stunning that Razer could not engineer the mouse to store even static color/intensity information into the onboard profiles. The Synapse software, when running, employs about 3 service applications and about 3 regular applications. None of them need to be running continuously unless you want the lighting effects to work as intended. Another odd limitation of this mouse is the inability for the onboard profiles to retain the 1000 Hz polling rate. The onboard profiles will only run at a maximum of 500 Hz. However, it is possible for the mouse to remain in the 1000 Hz polling rate without the Synapse software running if you set polling to 1000 Hz but do not select one of the alternate onboard profiles. Ive only had this mouse for a few weeks but I generally like it. I am a bit perplexed by the polling rate and lighting limitations I noted. Razer could have really hit the ball out of the park with this mouse had they overcome those seemingly simple, perplexing limitations.

> 3 dayI primarily use this for Battlefield 5. In the past, Ive used a SteelSeries Rival 300, 500 and 600 as well as a Logitech G502. The Razer Basilisk is my new favorite. Pros: Premium material feel and finish Thumb rest DPI Clutch - the paddle itself is metal. Ive remapped it to my Spacebar. I dont find myself searching for it - its just right there. The other two side buttons are easy to find as well. Variable resistance scroll wheel Slope of the RMB and concave LMB Braided cord Great price (I paid $55) Cons: The clutch paddle has a solid (magnetic) connection, but Im afraid If I ever lose it, I wont be able to replace it (unless I use the smaller one that came with it)

Greater than one weekBy far the best mouse Ive ever used. Everything from the button mechanics to the material design and layout is exactly where it should be. High quality optical sensor is a must, and this matches the best Ive seen from logitech and other great mice like the deathadder. Ergonomics are prime for a big handed right hander, and the customizeable features are well executed and useful. Razer synapse 3 is still very beta, and has had its fair share of bugs and kinks that I can only assume are shared between software and firmware. For instance, the basilisk tends to wake my computer from sleep as soon as it starts to sleep without any input from myself. One might think this indicates some amount of sensor jitter, but in game performance and analysis has deemed this sensor terrific and consistent. Removing synapse and reinstalling, plus using different usb ports and disabling wake in device manager has had no effect. I havent been able to test this with other machines, but no other peripheral causes this issue. My desktop sleeps fine with this unplugged, including with any other mouse plugged in. MAYBE this is an isolated issue with my rig and/or mouse, but why it would happen boggles me. If Razer could help me out and find a solution, that would make this mouse a 6/5 instead of a 4/5. TLDR; Ergonomics and design are spot on perfect for my particular use case and hand size, but small isolated firmware issues mean I can no longer sleep my computer. Other users dont seem to have this issue, so for all intents and purposes I rate this a solid 5/5 purchase. Update 7/2019: My scrollwheel fell apart and developed a click, so I contacted Razer for an RMA, which was promptly dealt with and received. Good service all around. Now, within 60 days of that RMA, my new mouse has developed a similar scroll wheel click and rubbing feel in certain spots. I believe there is the same piece of plastic broken off as my previous model. Im not sure I want to redo an RMA, as Im just worried this will happen again. I treat my mice well, afaik this happened with the mouse in my backpack, maybe the scroll wheel took some pressure somehow, Im not sure. My deathadder also had its wheel die in a backpack, so maybe razer has some QA problems with their wheels, or my backpack eats mice. Dropping my rating to 3 stars because the awesome scroll wheel has dependability problems twice over.

> 3 dayThe mouse itself works great and has a lot of customization options, from changing LED lighting or sensitivity on the fly. However, the mouse also comes with an entire suite of software that has to be installed and a majority of it you probably dont need. That means this mouse isnt just a plug and play deal since you have to go through this setup but if youre that person who wants to tweak every little thing about the mouse then this is fine for you. When my first mouse arrived the rubber gripping near the very base of the thumb and palm is coming away from the mouse. I ordered a replacement and the new one has the same issue. I expected a little more from a pricier mouse.

> 3 dayThis is my second Razer mouse mouse. I bought the original Naga back in 2009, and after almost ten years of use (between gaming and surfing, very consistent use) its just now started to stick. For any hardware to run that long without any real maintenance, is pretty impressive. For that reason alone, I will more than likely never buy anything but a Razer mouse. I was rather hesitant to buy a different mouse type because I absolutely loved my Naga, so I really took my time shopping through the entire Razer lineup. I have gone through ALL OF THEM, and finally ran into the Basilisk. I have made the right decision, and if you are reading this, I strongly urge you do the same. Here are some reasons why: - Hands down, the Basilisk is the most comfortable mouse in Razers lineup. Its size and weight grant comfortable control as well as allowing a variety of different grips in which to wield the mouse. - The strong, confident clicks are satisfying - The adjustable resistance wheel is easy to use, and allows you to customize your roll, whether that be stiff shifting or a smooth flow. - The sensor is second to none, 16,000 is ludicrous to use on a daily basis, but its nice to have the option. Speaking of which, the software allows easy setup and switching of different DPI speeds with the click of a button Now to address the biggest complaint Ive seen with this mouse: the software. Though I cannot speak for other users experiences, I had no real issues. The biggest challenge in setup and customization was that Razer Central, was slightly different than Razer Synapse. Note: Yes, if you have an older Razer keyboard or other Razer hardware, like I do, youll have to run both. Personally, It doesnt effect my system in the slightest, but if your rig is a potato, perhaps you may experience something different. (this should not deter you from considering this fabulous mouse) Continuing on, The software was different, big deal. As of today: 5/12/2018, Razer central is running smoothly. The general customization is set up differently than Razer synapse, but it really only took about 3 min to work out some kinks (which were self-inflicted). In conclusion: If you are looking for an an amazingly comfortable mouse, that is both sexy and righteous, and is unparalleled for multi-functional use (gaming, surfing, and working), Than this is the mouse for you!

> 3 day(first couple days of using it, the scroll wheel broke but, for fairness it doesnt subtract any stars. Just something to keep in the back of your head) It was the perfect mouse for me I came from a Cyber Power mouse, Not the perfect mouse but still good for what i needed it to do. When I ordered this 3 days ago i fell in love. I got a lot more precise with aiming in games like CS:GO and Rainbow Six Siege, and when you pick it up it doesnt move the cursor so if you pick it up to do another 180 turn, your accuracy doesnt go rotten. And you can pick how hard your mouse scroll is, and on the smoothest setting its very satisfying just scrolling down a web page. On the hardest setting though, you can switch your weapons with out loosing control and slide through your inventory just to land on the same item. So I recommend this for a general use mouse because the dpi clutch can make your clicks very accurate for clicking or cropping photos like in Photo Shop or Paint.net. You can turn off the lights if you dont want to made fun of by your coworkers classmates etc. but, everything is better with rgb so why the hell would you do that? Just turn it on full brightness (which is pretty bright) and block the haters. The synapses software was pretty simple but it is sorta buggy.

> 3 dayThe overall feel of this mouse is nice, but its held back by some hard-to-ignore flaws. The sides of the mouse are smooth rubber which feels awful and is impossible to keep from feeling greasy, no matter how often you clean it. My wife has a Razer mouse and the rubber wore away in less than a year, which I expect to happen here — I wouldnt have ordered it if I knew the size and smoothness of the rubber. Additionally, the mouse wheel click is incredibly sensitive and happens often when scrolling the wheel. Razers keyboard and mouse software borders on bloatware, and is incredibly intrusive and a pain to use. For all it does, it still wont boot your system with the LED settings youve saved so you have to tolerate the obnoxious default rainbow setting until the OS loads Razer Synapse. Coming from a Logitech G500 (which is no longer sold, unfortunately) this mouse doesnt really stack up. The rubber texture is hard to get past and the software is too much.

> 3 dayI like the this mouse in almost every way. I like the feel of the mouses surface. Movement is very smooth and has very sophisticated movement speed adjustment if you dont like the current movement speed. Just enough number of buttons on the mouse because I dont like a gaming mouse that has too many buttons that makes me feel like I am holding a keyboard instead of mouse. I also love the cool razer logo and the lighting. BUT WHAT MAKES ME PISS OFF IS that, as it can be seen from the picture that I attached, the left rubber part of this mouse is peeling off itself in a very short time. I dont know if I happened to received a defective one or this mouse just doesnt have enough adhesive to hold the rubber but this is very annoying and not something that I expect from the gaming mouse, otherwise a perfect gaming mouse, at this price range. I had to return the mouse and re-order. I will keep watching this rubber part and see if this one peels off also.

> 3 dayMy old mouse broke, and I needed a new one. I was looking for a mouse that had a clutch or some sort of precision button to provide a bit more pinpoint accuracy and I decided to get this one. This is the only Razer product I have, most of my peripherals have been Corsair, but I love this mouse. The Razer Central and Synapse for calibrating the different lighting effects is extremely simple to navigate. You can change the colors and effects easily to cycle whatever you want. You can also set what the mouse buttons actually do and make it specific to which program youre in, so you can set the mouse button 4 to a number key for one game, and to a letter for a different game, and never have to actually change the profile. I am a big fan of this mouse and would suggest it to almost anyone.
