> 3 dayI use this mouse for gaming and for work. I love the design of the thumb rest which is really what attracted me to it and sure enough its super comf. This mouse works with Razer Synapse v2 + v3 so it is controllable on both Mac and Windows, however Im not a big fan of Synapse v2 for Mac, Razer has not put much effort into the Mac side of things. However the mouse it self works great on Mac or Windows and you can use other third party mouse configurators on Mac such as SteerMouse to control the button configuration. On any system you can use the sensitivity control buttons directly on the mouse to control how fast your mouse cursor moves to get it just where you want it for your monitor resolution and personal taste.

> 3 dayI previously owned a Razer Imperator, and hoped that the Basilisk would be a fitting replacement for it. Its not. For one thing, its small. I dont have big hands, but theres no good place to put my ring finger. Theres no natural placement for my hand. The buttons are weirdly angled and sized in a way that makes things awkward. The DPI clutch is a cool idea, but its placed way too far forwards to be useful for me. The scroll wheel feels very high, making getting to it uncomfortable. The RGB idea is cool, but only active when the software is running and youre logged in. This means even when your screensaver is on it defaults back to cycling through colors. Why is your choice not saved on the mouse? I know it has on-board profiles. The sensitivity settings are very customizable, and I thought the Synapse software was fine, better than I was expecting based on the comments. I would just like it more if the mouse was more comfortable. Also, it took Amazon *4 tries* to send the right mouse to me. Thats more on Amazon than Razer though...

> 3 dayThis is about the 5th or 6th Razer gaming mouse I have purchased over the years. The Basilisk so far has been a solid performer for both gaming and general use. The DPI clutch and wheel friction adjustments are the most novel, cutting edge features. The DPI clutch paddles (two are included) are made out of metal and are held in place magnetically. I do not believe the magnetic/metal nature of the paddle is explained anywhere on the Razer site or in the manual. I find that the right mouse button is easily triggered accidentally. This is probably more a function of how I prefer to hold mice than a design shortcoming. The wheel friction adjuster was one of the selling points for me as I generally find mice wheels rotate too easily, especially in gaming. Even at the maximum friction setting, the wheel is still too loose for my tastes. This mouse includes two lighting zones, the wheel and the logo. The Synapse software provides adequate control over the lighting effects. However, if the Synapse software is not running continuously, the mouse lighting can either be totally off or in a rainbow cycling mode, neither of which is my preference. Lighting effects cannot be saved into the internal, onboard profiles. This limitation coupled with the bloaty nature of the Synapse software, is a real detractor for me. Sort of stunning that Razer could not engineer the mouse to store even static color/intensity information into the onboard profiles. The Synapse software, when running, employs about 3 service applications and about 3 regular applications. None of them need to be running continuously unless you want the lighting effects to work as intended. Another odd limitation of this mouse is the inability for the onboard profiles to retain the 1000 Hz polling rate. The onboard profiles will only run at a maximum of 500 Hz. However, it is possible for the mouse to remain in the 1000 Hz polling rate without the Synapse software running if you set polling to 1000 Hz but do not select one of the alternate onboard profiles. Ive only had this mouse for a few weeks but I generally like it. I am a bit perplexed by the polling rate and lighting limitations I noted. Razer could have really hit the ball out of the park with this mouse had they overcome those seemingly simple, perplexing limitations.

Greater than one weekThe functionality is there and works great, fits in the hand well, however the rubber mat under the thumb came loose, and I had to superglue it down in order to correct the issue so that it does not come loose anymore, and cause issues when trying to hit the DPI clutch.

> 3 dayOut of the box, this mouse was set to a really low DPI. Still fairly precise, but every PC gamer knows that high DPI and low in-game sensitivity is ideal. Also, polling rate should be as high as possible (in this case, its 1,000 Hz). So I installed the Razer software. It was kinda complex, not gonna lie...but I figured it out eventually, and I figured out more recently than Id like to admit that the sensitivity stages are activated by the buttons on the top (right by the scroll-wheel). Very useful for older games that have super-high sensitivity. So after I tested everything, I was able to move my mouse super-fast and it was tracking my movement ezpz. (Thats the main reason why I actually bought this mouse, actually: the one I had before, a generic, wireless office mouse, was okay-ish with tracking; but I couldnt flick at all with it.) Now, the Basilisk doesnt exactly have ten thousand buttons on it, but I personally like the simplicity as someone who very much prefers to play FPS games over anything else. It also helps quite a bit with ergonomics...though since my hands are quite large, I wish they would make an XL edition still lol. And the last point, being material quality: I feel as though the plastic on this thing could chip without too much effort. Although I wouldnt worry too much, since a mouse like this deserves to be under good care anyhow.

> 3 daySo for starters, I am not much of a PC gamer. I bought this mouse for the way it looks and the RGB functionality. Also, I really like the button placement. It feels great in my hand. No unnecessary buttons on the side that I accidentally click. I like the cord it comes with (braided but not too thick). The Razer Synapse/Chroma software is not too difficult to use but still confusing (I paired it with my Phillips HUE bridge but had difficulty getting the settings just right. One of my Hue bulbs wouldnt light up at times but Im not sure if it was the softwares fault or mine for not knowing how to use it). I also like the idea of the DPI clutch even though I doubt I will ever use it much. The only problem that really annoys me is that you cannot save Lighting Profiles/Settings to the Mouses internal memory. So I set up the color I wanted and I thought this is the perfect mouse! but shortly after I power cycled my computer it started to do the Rainbow mode on the mouse even though I set it to a static color and even saved the profile to the mouses internal memory. So basically if the Razer software isnt running the mouse is not going to be displaying the RGB pattern you chose. So when I boot up my computer it is stuck in rainbow mode till the software loads. This really annoys me. I thought it was implied that the hardware profiles would store this info so if I migrated my mouse to another system or didnt have the Razer software running the RGBs would behave like I wanted them to. Pros -Beautiful design -Button placement -Nice RGB -Adjustable scroll wheel resistance -Comfortable Cons -Color profiles do not work unless Razer software is running.

> 3 daySo, Let me start by saying I own several Razer products (sphex 2 mat and man-o-war headset), and as a whole Ive been extremely satisfied with their quality and performance. And I dont necessarily regret buying the basilisk, but it did have one glaring issue that is honestly the only thing keeping this from a 5 star rating. Pros: This is the comfiest mouse Ive ever used. I have slightly small hands, but this fits perfectly. It has a nice weight, and the adjustable resistance is a nice feature. Ive spent a couple hours gaming, some RTS and some FPS gaming and it has worked excellently. Ive also used it for some online homework and just general internet browsing, and Its been a breeze for everything Ive used it for so far. Con: I only have one bad thing to say about this mouse, but I found it super frustrating. the rubber on the side that your thumb rests in started peeling off within an hour of me using it. Im not sending it back, I just intend to put some super glue on it. But for a 70 dollar mouse I find this unacceptable. and while my other razer products have been durable so far, Im sort of concerned about how long this mouse will last.

> 3 day(first couple days of using it, the scroll wheel broke but, for fairness it doesnt subtract any stars. Just something to keep in the back of your head) It was the perfect mouse for me I came from a Cyber Power mouse, Not the perfect mouse but still good for what i needed it to do. When I ordered this 3 days ago i fell in love. I got a lot more precise with aiming in games like CS:GO and Rainbow Six Siege, and when you pick it up it doesnt move the cursor so if you pick it up to do another 180 turn, your accuracy doesnt go rotten. And you can pick how hard your mouse scroll is, and on the smoothest setting its very satisfying just scrolling down a web page. On the hardest setting though, you can switch your weapons with out loosing control and slide through your inventory just to land on the same item. So I recommend this for a general use mouse because the dpi clutch can make your clicks very accurate for clicking or cropping photos like in Photo Shop or Paint.net. You can turn off the lights if you dont want to made fun of by your coworkers classmates etc. but, everything is better with rgb so why the hell would you do that? Just turn it on full brightness (which is pretty bright) and block the haters. The synapses software was pretty simple but it is sorta buggy.

> 3 dayI have been using this mouse for about a year and nine months now, and at first, it worked well. However, after a couple of months, it kept getting ejected, so I had to unplug it from my PC and reconnect again. I had never had that problem with other mice. I even tried a different mouse for extended periods to see if the problem was with my operating system, but that was not the case. Theres something off about this mouse in terms of its driver software. For the past several weeks, the scroll wheel stopped working properly as well. It keeps getting stuck in one direction (either scrolling up or down). At first, I thought there was something wrong with the scroll resistance adjuster, but the scroll wheel kept getting stuck at different resistance settings. Its a descent mouse, but dont expect it to last a long time, and you may get weird behavior from it.

> 3 dayThe mouse feels nice, buttons are easy to press. You have to install synapse in order to customize things like lighting, dpi, mapping the buttons. When you turn off pc the mouse lights stays on and alternate between colors even if you set it to static. I read that only way to change that is to go into bios and set it to turn off ports power when pc is off. The only issue I have is that the rubber thump grip comes off. Ive see some reviews posting about this and hoped it was just a defect but seems like the issue still exist today. Update: I contacted razer within the warranty period and they replaced it free of charge. Been using the new one for over 5 months and never had the issue on the new mouse. Seems like the adhesive was defective on the old one. Overall I love the mouse.
