I ordered three gaming mice to choose from so I knew I was getting what I wanted. I ordered the Logitech G502 SE Hero, the Razer Viper Ultralight wired, and this mouse, the v2 basilisk. This mouse easily won out on the other two. It looks sleek, feels very comfortable to hold, is very lightweight, has very well placed buttons on the side, and glides across the mousepad with ease. My favorite part of this mouse, however, is the easily removable paddle located at the tip of the thumb on the side of the mouse. This was a dealbreaker for me with the G502. It’s button felt terrible placed and was annoying when clicked. On the basilisk however, it’s magnetic and can be removed and re-installed with ease in less than 5 seconds. It also feels very comfortable to click. The user interface is very sophisticated and intuitive, yet not overwhelming. There is a button on the bottom of the mouse that lets you change between “profiles”, (read custom button presets) with 0 effort. There is also a slider on the bottom of the mouse that lets you customize the resistance of the scroll wheel, so you can get exactly what kind of respond you want from your mouse. As someone who had been told that they are sometimes a little too picky with not-super-important things (i.e. a gaming mouse), I cannot recommend this mouse enough. I will say that I have only had this mouse for two weeks, so I can’t speak to its expected life. However, barring any complete durability malfunctions, this mouse had exceeded every expectation, and I am very pleased with this product overall. Enjoy!

at the time of buying this item it was only $35 which is a good price for this mouse, very good for gaming Cons: rattly right button ratly side buttons DPI buttons very rattly aswell there is a way by looking under the mouse to change mouse presets and that button stoped working within a month of using Pros: you can change the scroll wheel resistance which is a really cool feature RGB is okay extra side button side grips on the mouse Overall this is a okay mouse for the price i bought it at ($35), good for gaming, rattly mouse buttons, okay software, and ergonomic. but i will not be buying a mouse from this company again unless if i buy a razer viper mini to see if its any good, but otherwise will not being mouse and keyboards from razer again.

I switched to this mouse from a Logitech G502 that Ive used for about 5 years. i switched because logitech g hub software is miles inferior to Razers synapse 3.0 software and all my other peripherals are razer. i much prefer the button layout and heavy weight of the G502, but the basilisk v2 feels much more crisp overall. after working and gaming with this mouse for a couple months now, Ive finally started getting used to it. i miss the flywheel-scroll that the g502 has, but the customizable scroll of the basilisk v2 is very clean and comfortable. the basilisk is a great mouse overall, it feels very comfortable and the software it works with is very customizable. i wish that the basilisk v2 had much heavier weights and more RGB LEDs. otherwise its a solid mouse for all games and work tasks.

When I try to use the wheel to scroll up or down, it spastically scrolls up and down randomly. This mouse was used primarily for 9-5 job so it did get used for 8+ hours a day but it certainly didnt get abused and didnt take any drops or hits that would cause this damage. Its possible it got dirty. Im seeing a lot of information about cleaning the wheel for this brand so Ill give it a try. *edit* bought a 15$ can of air to blow out the wheel and nothing changed. Dont think it was that dirty anyway (I dust). The air cost more than a new 9 to 5 mouse so Im behind even more. I never really liked the mouse all that much now that I think about it. The middle wheel did not feel good to use. Very chunky. I was constantly mis-clicking the extra middle mouse button that sits right behind the mouse wheel. meh.

I like the feel of this mouse for the most part, although it did take some getting used to because my last one was a very different shape. However, there is what appears to be a major design flaw which I find inexcusable for a gaming mouse - the scroll wheel occasionally does not register a tick or, even more annoyingly, will occasionally scroll one tick in the opposite direction. In normal scrolling use, like on websites and whatnot, this is largely a non-issue - but in gaming, where often the scroll wheel is used to swap weapons or perform other functions where you need to move the wheel a single tick, this is utterly obnoxious. Some light research points to the design of the adjustable wheel resistance as the culprit, as many other owners have had similar problems. An occasional defect I can tolerate - a design flaw, which should have been discovered and addressed in testing, I cannot. Give me a break, Razer - did you actually test this function, I mean really test it, before you sent it to store shelves? One more thing that is somewhat less annoying. The side paddle (the DPI clutch) is about three millimeters too short for my average-sized thumb. It is my understanding that this mouse used to be shipped with different sized paddles that could be changed out - what happened to that? Besides these irritating problems, and Synapse 3 notwithstanding, its a decent mouse - and Im outside the return window now, so Ill tolerate it - but I dont think Id buy it again. At this price point I expect better. UPDATE 10/4/20: Well, the scroll wheel issue became more frequent and exponentially more infuriating as time went on, to the point that scrolling down a web page became a stuttery mess. I never did get used to the awkward feel of this mouse, but that could just be personal preference. Additionally, Razer Synapse is every bit as obnoxious as Ive been led to believe - I know mouse software tends to run in the background, but Synapse insists on being OPEN in order for certain features of the mouse to work. Im also not too chuffed about having to make an account and dish out my information just to install a product that I already paid $80 for. I dont know what Logitech or other manufacturers are doing, but I cant imagine mandatory registration is industry-standard practice for computer peripherals. If other reviews are to be believed, I expect contacting Razer for support will be about as useful and pleasant as self-inflicted head trauma. Between the scroll wheel issue, the bizarre placement of the paddle side button, and the inexplicably invasive software, I have decided to replace my Basilisk with a Roccat Kone, which Ive been pleased with so far - furthermore, it actually has a working scroll wheel for at least $20 less. As for Razer, Im done with them. Sorry-not-sorry, Razer - you blew it.

Bought this to replace my Razer DeathAdder Elite. I found it a bit too small for my hand (which is on the larger side). I have now boughtand started using a DeathAdder V2, which I find much more comfortable. I did like the thumb shelf, though. I didnt get much use our of the DPI clutch or the adjustablity of the scroll wheel, though I definitely see how the former could be very useful in FPSes

Overall, I like this mouse. The shape fits my hand better than the Deathadder that I was using previously. I am also a huge fan of the additional thumb button. I am using it for the Hypershift button which is just an additional modifier so I can use all of the other buttons on the mouse for other functions. The Synapse software is also really good. It allows for some great control customization. My one gripe with the software is that there are only 2 extra mouse buttons (Mouse 4 and Mouse 5). If you want to use more buttons, you have to bind it to either a macro, keyboard function, or other functions. Its just less ideal for gaming because you cannot bind extra controls in-game and you would have to go into the synapse software and add functionality. Now to my main issue. Its the mouse wheel. The tension is adjustable which is nice I guess, but the issue is the amount of play in the detents. On my Deathadder, the valleys that the wheel sits in has no play. As soon as you start to roll the wheel, it starts to climb the mountain. This mouse is not nearly as good. There is a significant amount of play in the valleys. Also, because of this play, the mouse does not move immediately when you get to the next valley. I can scroll the wheel, clear the mountain and I am in the valley, but it has not scrolled on the computer yet. It doesnt sound like a very big thing but when you are scrolling something slowly, or if you are trying to switch items in-game, its really noticeable and really annoying.

It’s great! I love it! A lot of people complain that razer is overpriced plastic but this proves them wrong! it feels so good in the hands, the cable is super high quality, and the software! My god the software is great, it just works, it has a great ui, and did i mention it just works???? So simple to use, and get working with the rest of my setup. 10/10 would recommend. That is of course besides the fact that it feels great in the hands, it fits my hands great, not too shallow nor too tall, not too wide, not too thin, but nice and long. Short mice annoy me, and i don’t have big hands. Feels great in the hands and the buttons fall right under ur fingers.

This mouse has a lot of buttons and lets you map keys to mouse functions, which is great. Definitely an upgrade over a cheap Walmart mouse.
